No. I'm not. My point is he scores against pretty much every team he faces. Good or bad.

There are exceptions, of course.

His job is to score, and to a lesser extent to assist goals for others. He's scores more than anyone, and is top 5ish in the world in assists. What does it matter how he plays outside that. Or if a large number of those goals come against shit teams. Every player in history has a better scoring record against weaker teams.
let's not exaggerrate there - with the NT CR7 is more like CR0. Guy scored vs Hungary and Wales. That's it.

But seriously. Many people agree that Messi doesen't show the same level at the nt (I agree, even though I haven't seen that many Argentina games), but the same goes for Ronaldo. Now, we're all talking about him, because the worst Portuguese nt I have ever seen play, are in a final they never should've been in.

He scored twice in a 3-3 draw which was instrumental in getting them through and the opener in a semi final. I'm not sure why that's a bad thing.

Ronaldo carrying a shit Portugal Team to the final, meanwhile tying Platini for most goals scored in the history of European championships. What a player

100% agree with this. He is nowhere near club level. Just like Messi. He has a chance Sunday to show something special. Interesting to see if he pulls it off.

But the fact is these fuckers have Ronaldo to thank for that very fact. The dude doesn't choke when playing for his country. It's just that his country is no good to begin with.

Messi's team on the other hand can comfortably leave Dybala at home. Dybala, the starting striker of Juventus ffs.

Hungary could qualify for shittiest defense in the tournament i.e. exactly the type of defenses CR7 has been scoring for fun his entire career, which has made dummies out there with zero clue for tactics to crown him and the Argie midget as the two best ever.

Not a bad thing, just don't start acting like it's a heroic feat.

Ronaldo has the excuse of playing for a shit team most of his career. Messi is surrounded by WC players and is playing for (one of) the top favorites in every competition he enters and still flops

The odds are heavily stacked against him. He plays for a poor Portugal side and either has to face an extremely talent France or a well oiled German machine.

If he loses the final you can't automatically call that choking.

Yeah well, all goals count you know. You can't debate about a player and then erase random facts about him because you don't like the opposition. It's not as if he scored twice in an 8-0 victory.

But he does. Scoring against Hungary doesn't change that. Portugal have always been a pretty good side, who people thought could win something.

But the last years, they've been absolutely dire. Nobody thought they could do anything this year (they played horrible too), but now they're in the final. It was the system and nothing else.
