Doku looks like another one of those quick players that can dribble circles around players but with no end product, however it's important to note that he is only 19. Lots of time to work that out. If he could do that he'll be great.

It's always a tough pill to swallow, but I'm a huge Italy fan as well which makes it easier.

Some of you guys are incredibly bitter though. You speak as if you've been wronged.

Serie A got the most global attention in the 90's. If it doesn't now, the Italians only got themselves to blame. You need to get over this.

If the next big competition was in two years from now, I'd say this was it for this Belgian generation. But it's next year so your guys have one more chance to win something or make the final. In 2024 many of these guys won't be there, so 2022 is the last chance.

haha, once i met him in hungary, and he was drunk back then lol

btw he spoke decent hungarian :shifty:
Damn. Speaking Hungarian ain't no joke either. There is really nothing else like it.

Lol. Immobile’s best contribution all game.

If it wasn't for that flop video, I wouldn't have known Immobile was anywhere near the stadium the entire match.

I saw more of Eden Hazard than I saw of Immobile last night.

No, he's not. His dribbling is out of this world. But he needs to work on his finishing. He can be an incredible player, but much depends on his training the next few years.

For a 19 year old, that was a seriously professional penalty. I mean that in the most conniving and manipulative of ways to forge something out of realistically nothing.

At that age, he seems to have some raw talent. But given the ratio of people at 19 where we can say that who deliver real end product by age 23, the odds are still against him.

I didn't watch many of Ukraine's games. Do they have a realistic chance against England? I need someone to shut their fans up ASAP.
Ukraine won their qualifying group over Portugal, and deservedly. A lot of people miss that detail.

England have struggled to score in every game. One reason being that Kane is not really fit, and he has to keep dropping into midfield to pick up the ball. England's play is also very ponderous and conservative, so chances have been at a premium. Sterling has scored 3 in 4 games but he is another player who ended the season in mediocre form, and aside from his goals has made quite a few errors in his general play and holds onto the ball for too long.

They should have enough to beat Ukraine by a couple but don't let the clean sheets fool you too much, even though they are pretty defensive they still look like conceding goals when put under any pressure. Germany cut through them a few times with wide open gaps, but they haven't really played against any quality players aside from that game, and may not again until the final, were they to reach it.

Love entire team but that replay was sickening to watch. We know that's the weak part of team but would starting Belotti be better? From what I have seen of Belotti doesn't seem to be an improvement?

Did I miss something or did Ciro have the ball close to goal's left side guarded by two players and had easy pass to teammate for tap in but never saw him?

I think England is going to find scoring on them much harder than they think
Ukraine's defense is very error prone, nervous and unorganized. Worst defense in KO round for sure. If they want to have a chance they must embrace the chaos and bank on their technically gifted attackers to tie a few knots in 'arrys feet.

Unfortunately, there is little hope

You're right.

Tbh I never believed in us this tournament. In 2018 we were great, but it was because Hazard was so great. Now he's been struggling for two seasons. KDB started and ended the tournament injured as well.

If we get a great manager, we'll be a contender in 2022.

Apart from everything else though, our golden generation has given us a new and improved football culture. Hazard alone is responsible for the Belgian player new style and Doku is the first end product molded after Eden.

To outsiders looking in it isn't obvious. But Belgians should be eternally grateful to those two.

Watching Jorginho play himself out of pressure compared to Bentancur shows how much of a joke our squad was last season.

He put on a clinic tonight in that regista role.
Wonderful player and best there is at regista. There is an aversion here for former (or current) Napoli players so it was always laughed when Jorginho was brought up, with people at different point preferring Bentancur, Arthur, or all sorts of linked players.

He is massive. Mancini's only irreplaceable player.
