Norway should be able to finish second in this group. Italy pretty much because I'd like them to come here :p Either way, I just hope we qualify for this one. Been too long ago since we played in the WC or Euro
we'll kick your ass :p

The nine winners and the runner-up with the best record against the top five in their pool qualify directly for the final tournament. The eight remaining runners-up contest play-off matches in November 2011 to decide the final four names to join co-hosts Poland and Ukraine.
---------------

Personally, I'm really satisfied with the draw. It was important not to get Turkey, Sweden, Denmark, Czech Republic and Serbia from pot 2 and frankly, Greece was the wanted opponent from that second pot. Luck wanted Croatia to get Greece exactly. Not getting Ireland and Bosnia from pot 3, Belgium and Slovenia from pot 4 and Montenegro from pot 5 was also preferred, and it happened in the end.
No excuses for Croatia if they fail to qualify for the Euro.

I want to use this opportunity to wish all the best luck to Dule and Serbia. Hopefully they'll win the first place so Italy would play in the playoffs... and lose. :D

I don't honestly think that Italy is going to show much and I also think Slovenia will give us harder time. We'll have one great squad though.

Undoubtedly a change of generations will happen in Italy after the world cup. The defense will certainly get a new look and in midfield some of the regulars will probably retire from the NT (Camoranesi, Gattuso... maybe even Pirlo will decide to do what Nesta and Totti did after the WC06).
New coach, new tactics, new players....even if there is quality in the team, they will need some time to gel. That's where I see your main chance to win the first place in the group. It will be perfect for you if you play the first match against them at the start of the qualifiers.

And to make it even better (for us) the new players are not even close to good old Italy's material. I mean, Criscito, Santacroce, Ranocchia in defense is nothing. Bunch of players with 'potential'. They lost and they will lose all their leaders. You can't even compare it to Grosso - Canna - Nesta - Zambrotta

In the midfield they will have De Rossi who is great. Camo to retire, they will lose a lot. About Pirlo, even if he stays there I wouldn't mind. He's not the old self anymore.

In attack there's Gila, Pazzini, Rossi. I don't rate any of those that much, especially the poachers.

I don't know, the new generation of Italy is not a threat IMO. I don't think they can reach top with those players.

Agreed, the time after WC2010 looks not too great if you're Italian. I mean, you have all these names that are hyped up, but that is mainly because they are Italian. Albin Ekdal was right.

And yes, easy draw. We'll probably beat Holland and end up first.
Is Sweden traditionally playing well against the Dutch?

I liked Sweden ever since Brolin in 1994, and especially after Zlatan started playing there, and I always rated Sweden's football, but I must admit I'm surprised by your optimism.
Injuries aside, as it happened in the last qualifiers, the Dutch are like a machine.

I was actually semi-trolling there, Holland are the favourites but I don't fear them in any way. Definitely one of the 2-3 teams that I'd preferred beforehand out of the teams in pot 1. A lot will come down to if Robben is injured or not. We won't be able to contain him.

:agree:

Sneijder in the current form will also be a problem.
From the little I've seen of them in the last qualifiers, they're an incredibly fast team, so it'll be good for you if their injury prone players (van Persie, Robben, van der Vaart...even Sneijder) get unlucky with the injuries during the qualifiers.
