Germany played almost exactly as the Austria game. The players looked jaded and
disoriented, and when Turkey started putting pressure on the backline and the two central midfielders the solutions were scarce.
Reminded me more of the Croatia game tbh. Coincidentally, the Turks mentioned that they studied that game closely and adapted Croatia's tactics (to a degree). They succeeded in completely taking Ballack out of the game and thus disrupting and disorienting Germany.

Kinda showed Loew's true colors for me. I thought he achieved greatness in changing and motivating the squad towards the great victory against Portugal, even tho Germany's goals were often down to horrible defensive errors (but hey, most goals happen due to errors). But he really got lucky because his style of play was compatible with Portugal. He knew Turkey would play like Croatia, yet failed to change the team accordingly to avoid another Croatia game. Lucky for him Turkey lacked the quality, especially with only 14 available players.

He won't be that lucky with neither Russia nor Spain, even tho he'll have more chances against Spain imo. As far as I can tell Germany has some sort of unconditional love for Loew and anyone who was involved in the WC2006, so I'm sure his shortcomings will be forgiven if not ignored in light of the silver medal he'll bring home.

I'm still pissed that we didnt have the balls to buy masch but we didnt mind overspending on amauri
No one really had a shot to buy Mascherano unless we refused to honor the loan contract by not purchasing his player contract. Then the price would have escalated and Barcelona or Madrid would have him.

at the point in which we were close to him MSI didnt care where he went they just wanted the money.
They were contractually bound to give Liverpool first option. When we paid half or what ever it was in January, that basically sealed the deal. All the other rumors were in case Liverpool don't pay. The 23 or so we paid was already predetermined, nothing said the price wouldn't have gone up for other teams. There were other teams willing to pay more than we did, but because there was no true biding war we were able to purchase his contract.

However you put it, the German NT is the all time best and most successful European NT.
