It was bad enough when NFL stadiums incessantly played the Stones' grossly overplayed and overrated "Start Me Up" before kickoffs. Now we have to listen to ESPN use it for their Euro coverage over a decade later.

All sports networks and sporting events are hereby put on notice: use the hackneyed "Start Me Up" in any promotions anymore, and I will come over with a C-4 jacket and blow up the crap out of you all.

It had its decade already. "Start Me Up" belongs in Viagra commercials, not sports anymore.
:lol2:

Yeah, seriously. Stupid ESPN.

Stu, your team is doing great thus far, but you have 8 players will have played by the end of the day.
Yeah I'm looking good so far but Ronaldo cost so much and he didn't deliver as my captain. If I didn't get him the rest of my squad would be much stronger. I'm kinda skeptical about Di Natale.

I need a big performance from either Ballack or Torres.

Germany are starting with Gomez, Podolski and Klose.

I'd take Camoranesi, I already have him on my team.

Stu, or anyone who knows, what are the Wildcards you keep mentioning?
You can change one player in your team for another player during the matchday as long as that player hasn't played yet. For example, Andy has Robben in his team but now he knows that Robben won't play tomorrow so he can swap him out for someone else. You can use one wildcard per matchday.

Hmm... van der Vaart, Pirlo, or Camoranesi?

I want to get Iniesta in there but I already have 2 Spaniards.

I had Robben on my team as well. Problem is that changes/transfers will not be effective until matchday 2. So if you're playing what I think you're playing, which is the UEFA FF game, all of your matchday 1 changes were locked down yesterday morning through Tuesday's matches.

In the group stage, one matchday is the equivalent of 8 games.

I'm not sure if I feel like helping you out. Probably not.

:D

If I'm missing something, please do say. But for example, I tried to swap out Robben -- the game says that won't be effective until Matchday 2. I try to switch my bench substitute, same deal.

Unless you're playing something wholly different.

Also, you're allowed only 4 transfers per matchday, and they would (along with your choice of captain and substitute) have to be completed by Wednesday morning. And I'd rather wait until then before picking my Matchday 2 transfers.

But then, maybe I shouldn't be helping you out here.

Go to your latest points page, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see something that says 'activate wild card'. Should be self explanatory from there.

Sh*t. You're wholly right about that hidden feature.

Boy, do I stand corrected.

Thanks, sir. I owe you one. :martini:
