palermo fielded a terrible team and are well on there way to losing at home to newcaslte. does Zamparini want to win uefa ? or just waste this chance.

Palermo were far more skillfulll than Newcastle and it was evident to see from the match. They probably feel aggrieved that the game ended in a draw but that is the nature of the game if you dont take your chances. The young kid well for Newcastle at goal and looks like a good prospect.

I think both of these teams will ultimutately qualify. And there is no point playing your best players in this tournament for all matches since you don't have to win all the games that come your way.

Guana - well all I can say is that my sister can tackle harder than him. He looks like a girl with a boot, socks, shorts on.

there is a point in playing your best players at home. u have to win or at least tie your home matches. or else you can make it alot harder on yourself in the long run

UEFA is hardly money making machine these days and personally I don't think it is that necessary to do well in this competition. Better qualify for CL than win UEFA and finish top 5 in the league. That is just the way it is with disproportionate amount of money involved in more prestigious competition.

Beside, I think the talent tool in modern day game is far deeper than in the past. Reserves arent as bad as they used to be back in the days when first 11 played week in and week out. I think it was worth taking a risk since Newcastle was hardly a team in form and have some injury issues themselves. Sampdoria, despite their recent horrendous run of forms, are no slouch and they must have felt the need to rest some of their stars. Anyway I have generally been impressed by the philosophy of Palermo, and it is pitty that they didnt get a deserved result of the game. But full credit to Newcastle, they defended doggedly and looked - I cant believe I said this - but quite solid, especially Titus Bramble.
