Split is absolutely gorgeous. I went there a couple of years ago. Took the ferry from Ancona.

I did. But in a good way. The Lungomare for example is something they actually worked on in Split. This is never the case in Italy. Of course.. Ancona is not Italy's finest, so coming from there my view may have been skewed. I was not impressed by Croatian drivers though

The Italian tourism is on the other part of the country while Croatia has only 1 coast so we invested more than the Italians did in the Adriatic part.
I asked you because many foreigners see similarities between the two coasts, the Italian and Croatian Adriatic coasts, but they all prefer the Croatian one.
We also got lucky with the winds. They are favoring our coast and screwing the Italians

If I didn't speak Italian, I would definitely prefer the Croatian Adriatic coast over the Italian one. Most of my holidays in Italy are spent in Calabria and Campania anyway, because I don't particularly like the Italian Adriatic coast, although there are a couple of really nice places in Puglia. Croatia is making a huge name for itself in Belgium by the way, it is becoming a favourite of many Belgian tourists. Very very very cheap beer too .

The drivers.. man.. they do not like pedestrians . I know Italians don't like them either, but still. For me this is weird, because pedestrians are holy in Belgium.

Yeah, that's a problem. And I guess it's a southern one. In April I was in Poland and I was impressed by the driving culture. And it surprised me because I thought those guys aren't any better than us, but they are. In the Balkans though and in the south-western countries, the driver always has the advantage
