The best teams are the teams who do qualify, you can't go getting eliminated from competitions and claim your one of the best teams because of your name.
I don't consider Liverpool, Athletico Madrid, Fulham and Hamburg to be the best teams who started in the Uefa cup.

Same way Bayern,Lyon,Inter and Barca are in the Champions league. Though the Champions League has got the better teams left in it but the Uefa Cup really is poor.

Then how come the other supposedly better teams didn't reach this stage, if they were really as good as you make them out to be?

To each, his own.

I don't see why we wouldn't watch. I just enjoy watching football, a lot of football, and having teams from different leagues play eachother is a bonus.
Well for me. The matches are in the middle of the day (during the week at that). I really don't "like" any of the teams left. I still watch Liverpool matches when I get the opportunity.

EPL teams on form tonight. Watched the pool game and feel sorry for benfica. Kuyt is such a prick, intimidating the goal keeper throughout the game and getting a goal for it too. Couple of counter attacks and job done. The high line costed benfica but that said I dont think Benfica's defence was that bad, Aimar was terrible today as was the midfield.

So Atletico v Liverpool, This is so one way Liverpool in final and going to win it now.

Fulham are just a hyped club taking on a misreble miscommunicating german team. The amount of times Grafite and Dzeko were hitting each others heads was laughable.

Do you really want to see Inter win a big trophy? Because that's what they will do.
I don't want them to win it, that much should be obvious, but if they were to win it, I'll be watching them do so. I'm really not going to skip the CL final because I don't like Inter, if they make it that far. I want to see the two 'strongest' teams in Europe face off, after following their roads to that final.

@Fred: I agree with your points man. I find it odd we're having to somewhat defend watching EL in the Europa League thread.

If inter reaching the final wouldnt necessarily mean they will win it. Too right its only more motvation to support Bayern/Lyon. The ECL final should be watched regardless who plays IMO ( of course had it been 2 EPL teams.. then thats a different matter :D).

Do you know what I will be doing at the CL final? Me and 55999 others will be running 21 km around town.
