De Rossi...

I know it's hard to play in a team like Roma right now but Daniele didn't do anything over the past 2 seasons. He's different now. Some can say his role is more defensive now but it's not like he's shining for Italy. People say "oh his passes are awsome" but the truth is that his passes are pretty bad now, too many mistakes. He rarely intercepts too. He's one of my favorite players but he's nothing special right now.

Bold can make me understand why he isn't performing up to his own high standards, and something needs to be done at Roma because he's way too good to be fighting with Roma on the edge of the Europa places. Or a new environment, which doesn't look likely. I think he's clearly been their best player for a long time without expecting him to carry a team with players like Taddei and Riise though, not to mention large parts of the season without Totti.

Anyway, he's definitely talented and classy enough to be in the top 3 or 4 in his position in the world. We should tempt him from Ranieri with Molinaro or something.

There are some players that are playing good for Roma, even though they are bad now and as I said, he's not so great for Italy as well. He needs even better players? Well, even I could shine at Barca or somewhere.

Ole, 1:1 against Hertha in Berlin is a great result, had we converted those chances, ze germans would have been humiliated. At least those german smartasses will respect us now and won't come to Riga with reserves.

He needs even better players?
Looking at the line up they started tonight, I can see three, possibly four other players who should start for a team like Roma (CL qualification every season). There's too many players who would be subs or reserves for the team from 2006/2007, and they're all getting older.

He's still looked a class above the rest of them whenever I've seen Roma, and only great players can keep producing world class moments (goal vs us for example).

Azzurri hasn't done much lately unfortunately. Again, too many old players :D

Italian vs German teams in this round in Europe:

Italy:
2-2-3 (6:7) 8pts (since a win is counted 2pts then it's 6pts)

Germany:
3-2-1 (11:8) 11pts (8pts).

These points are devided with the number of teams each country has.
Since there are 7 Italian clubs it's 6:7= 0.75pts for Italy this round
There are 6 German clubs so it's 8:6= 1.33 pts for Germany this round

At this moment here's how the UEFA Country coefficients look (last 5 years are counted)
1 England 68.856
2 Spain 66.900
3 Italy 53.052
4 Germany 50.707

The Germans are getting closer and closer. Since next year pts gained in season 2005/06 won't be counted (Italy won 15.3 while Germany won 10.4 in that particular season) the Germans will surely overtake Italy unless the Italians do much better than Germany in the next two seasons.
