Why is it not racist?

By the way wee English girls can also be racist. Or are you playing the "Hey, Bin Laden, no offence, some if my best friends are pakis!" card.
Perhaps if it would be a British flag or something that claims, "all Brits are pigs" it would be racist. The British could potentially be a race depending on how one interprets the definition.

But alas, an English person made this for me herself, so you're pissing in the wind you piss ant.

Well, congratulations to The Times. They just made people dislike English football even more.

And no matter what, even if they do have a glut of Champions League finals in England, it won't do anything for their own national team. Perhaps they should be focusing on moving an international tournament to Wembley as that's the only real chance their country would have in winning it... only if they also receive referee help, that is.
The Times isn't English football. They're running an email campaign to move the CL final, which will likely contain an English team, because English fans in Rome keep getting stabbed. Your post smacks of petty prejudice against the English. There are plenty of better reasons to dislike them, and better issues to oppose.

You are as thick as you appear to be.

What is the definition if racism?

The British are not a race.

An English person made it! So, ipso facto, it can not be racist!

Hee Haw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having visited London recently and Rome fairly recently, I know which capital city I felt safer in.

Hint: The wasn't the one that begins in L and ends with ondon.
Awesome. Hey everyone! Holden's spidersense says Rome's okay for the final. You can call off the campaigns and relax with the security already.

Again, anyone have actual crime stats for Rome?

Ohh please, spare me. Rome has been established as the location of the final, so if the English fans and teams don't want to go there, then they should just stay home. You see, English fans could also be stabbed in nations such as Turkey, and as I recall there were some stabbing cases there, yet The Times did not petition to move matches away from that country.

All I see it as is just another petty attack by the English media on the people they simply don't like and never will. If they're so scared, then they should stay home.

Whenever I read one of your post I think of the film A matter of life and death.

Decisions like that are not to be changed on a whim, but this isn't a whim - it's a genuine security concern.

There was a very nasty stabbing incident in Turkey, killing two Leeds fans. There have been attacks on Middlesboro, Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Man Utd (again) fans in Rome. It's hardly an isolated incident, and the concern is hardly baseless.

So this is all about racism? The Times hate Italians? More than Turks? More than anyone else? My arse.

Don't try to be clever. I never said Rome was a safe city.

I gave my personal opinion on the matter. Or is that not allowed here?

I apologise; I was unnecessarily dismissive. I'd just been reading the Mayor of Rome's pretty poor contribution to the debate* and kind of swept you up in the same sentiment.

* If you didn't read that post - he used a piss poor comparison of the number of results for two google searchs to imply that London was a more dangerous place, when even a casual examination of the figures implies the opposite, and the Mayor of Rome should have the actual crime stats, methinks. I really, really hate elected officials displaying ignorance of statistics or using bad stats to fudge an issue.

Ahh yes, a genuine security concern. You know, I wonder if the same proposition would be made if an Italian team would still be in the competition. The answer is probably not.

But fine, change the location of the final after Rome has been preparing for it. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt the economy entirely too much, but it still might be a blow to some bottom lines around Stadio Olimpico.

And yes, we know. It's never, ever the fault of the English.

So this is all about racism? The Times hate Italians? More than Turks? More than anyone else? My arse.
It must be said though that the English media isn't too fond of Italians, or practically anybody other than themselves.

As I said, the match was set for Rome. Too bad. If English fans and media are scared, then just don't go.

Honestly, I don't really see what the point is here. English supporters would go to much more dangerous places to follow their teams. The only place this leads to is advocating banning all matches from cities such as Rome, Belgrade, Zagreb, along with others across the globe.
