When was that?

He received too many offers from Sir Alex Ferguson but he was never on the edge of leaving the Club.
Even If he was going to leave or had in mind to leave he wouldn't do it for cash. He swallowed Capello's smell for couple of years this says a lot.
But Ronaldo wasn't going for the cash either, Man Utd were prepared to match Real's offer for him, he was going because it was his boyhood dream to go to Man Utd.

What i want to understand is, why do people believe going to another club for money is a bad thing. I mean it is, if its a step in the wrong direction ala Neves to Saudi Arabia or even Robinho to City. But it would be wrong because the given player made a step in the wrong direction, not because he went for money.

But lets suppose Ronaldo left Man Utd for Real because of a better offer, why is that wrong? Wouldn't you do that? If you were working in company x, and company y came to you with a much better offer that company x was not willing to give you, would you not move to company y? If you did, should you be considered as a mercenary??

PS: This is not directed to Rab, this is directed to everyone.

They will look like the major dipshits that they are.

and they will most certainly lose too
Remember the milan derby when milan players, coach and Uncle Fester where all convinced that they'll win the game and at the end of the day they've lost.

It's Deja vu but this time its Inter's turn to lose against united...

100%. There's no harm or shame to move to a top club with a better offer. That's very normal... Not like the ones finishing their career in Qatar or Saudi.

Hell, even doing that is fine in my book. If you're too old to play in a top league, why not play where you'll get paid ten times as much? Secure your future, etc.
