True... but the recent Milan team probably have the best nerves in world football. They definitely don't win by having the best team of players.
The Deportivo and Liverpool incidents are rather recent and not much changes has happened to the team.

    On another note,

May Barca choke and choke abundantly!

Speaking of Liverpool. I think we are screwed. Skrtel is officially out for both this weekend and the Inter match. So it will be either a dinged up Hyppia or Mikel San Jose beside Jamie Carrager.

You sure? Pirlo and are Kaka THE best players in the world. Nesta is the best or at least among the best central defenders in the world currently, Maldini is one of the best defenders of all time, Seedorf is the most succesful player out there, Gattuso is arguebly the best destroyer, Inzaghi is the all time topscorer in the european club competitions. Pato is perhaps the most talented player around. To support them there is a group of very good players such as Jankulovski, Ambrosini, Kaladze, Gilardino... etcetera.

Of course, this is a post without nuance, but Milan surely is among the teams with the best of players.

Yes, true. One of the main Milan's problems lately is squad depth. They have world class players like not many, if any, other teams, but the difference in quality between starting XI and their bench is huge like nowhere else.
And take one of Kaka-Pirlo and you get what we've seen against Livorno yesterday.

Milan don't choke indeed. They give it all when needed. The La Coruna and L'Pool happens to every single team in the world.
La Coruna and Liverpool didn't happen to a single team apart from Milan (in last 10 years).
To have a 3:0 lead in the final of the most important team tournament and to lose the final is THE choking of all time. To have 4:1 in the quarter finals of CL and to lose 4:0 the return leg is choking second only to their CL final choking.

Many Milan fans told me that their team is mentally weak, or if not weak then at least not strong enough as some other top teams. Quality-wise they are probably the best in the world and to have such strong squad and still to lose CL final and 1/4 final the way they did, to lose the 2005 scudetto at their own stadium, to hardly win the 4th place in serie A, then there is some problem, and we can't blame squad depth for everything.

It did happen in UEFA Cup twice, once with Middlesbrough and Steaua. And I've seen many in League matches.

What happened with L'Pool in the final, is something yes, but with Deportivo, it happens with lot of teams.

No, no Rab. Things like that happen every single day in every single league. That wasn't my point. My point was that something like that rarely ,almost never, happens in something as big as a CL final or CL final eight.
To lose so important matches, matches that bring tens of millions if you win them, the way Milan lost them, it implies mental weakness.
Because there is no other way to explain it. Milan were much better than both Liverpool and La Coruna and Milan have the best team in the world quality-wise.
A team like Milan to lose that way.......i can't find another word but CHOKE.

I'm not saying their team isn't quality, because they are. In fact Pirlo, IMO is the best player in the world. But there are many better squads out there like Barca, Arsenal, maybe Inter, but Milan have something extra psychologically, something like the WC winning Italy team, whose team player for player was nothing compared to Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, maybe Portugal.

The only thing that Milan have stacked against them is age.Their defence line can be overun by players like Robben etc.But hey, isnt this the same 'old' team that sent the self proclaimed best player in the world back to kindergarden last season?

Milan have old legs. But old legs also carry tons and tons of experience.Im not sure if they'd do well in the CL this time, but Milan always seem to save their best for the CL.The going will be pretty hard for them this time around with all the injuries n stuff though, but i wont count them out.

That's why Milan are the most disguisting team in the world. They are always ready for CL because they don't even care about the other competitions. Look at their team against Livorno on Wednesday ( resting Kaka, Seedorf, Nesta), look at their team today where Ancelotti is expected to start with the complete 2nd team.
They shamelessly underestimate serie A and Coppa Italia and they give their all in CL.
That's disguisting if you ask me. The other big teams from every big league try to do as better possible in every competition, no matter if it's CL, the domestic league or the cup but these arrogant calculative bastards don't want to get tired and risk their precious legs in some tiny competition like serie A or some silly Coppa Italia.
It's easy when your players are well rested and when they are against a team that fights for the domestic league and played with the best XI few days earlier in the league.

Look at Roma for example. They don't have squad depth either but they still give their all in Coppa, in serie A and in CL.

That's why i live for the day when Milan won't win CL and they'll finish 5th in serie A. That will teach them once and for all.

    Greece won European Championship
    Steau Bucharest won Champions League

I would be happy to see their performance in Serie A.Long marathons are always harder than this kind tournaments. You can win by luck in a cup.Remember 2002.Turkiye was third. We did not play against one single european team.

it is Serie A>CL to me.

Berlusconi will continue to hide their failure in league with this tournaments. They are best team in the world because of just 2 matches?

beating manure and boca are enough to be best?
