Ancelotti: We Played Well

Carlo Ancelotti believes Milan did everything they could during the 2-1 defeat tonight and does not want any action taken against Celtic after a fan ran onto the pitch and attacked Dida.

The game at Celtic was a rather dull affair with very few clear-chances. Scott Mcdonald scored the winner for the Bhoys in the 90th minute after Dida fumbled a shot from Gary Caldwell.

The Brazilian keeper, who was also at fault for Celtic's first goal, was then attacked by a Scottish fan who had run onto the pitch to celebrate Mcdonald's goal. Contact seemed very minimal but Dida was stretchered off and Celtic may now face action from UEFA.

"I don't know what happened in the incident with Dida," said Ancelotti. "I want to see what Dida has to say. Watching it on TV it didn't look very serious.

"For sure a supporter shouldn't be going onto the pitch but being awarded the three points as punishment I don't even want to consider it.

"As for the game, we played well on a very difficult pitch. It was very slippery due to the heavy rain and we couldn't have done anymore than what we did.

"We didn't concede any chances, we are just paying at the moment for the mistakes we are making.

"However I must say that Scottish football is growing fast - just look at Rangers' victory in Lyon last night."

Dida is absolutely laughable. Yeah the fan shouldn’t have been on the pitch, but not only did the fans hand not touch his face, it was a minor cheeky slap. One that a 3 year old could have done harder if given the chance.

Give the fan a fine or ban him from games, and let’s all laugh at Dida. That’s all what needs to happen.

Dida acted extremly unprofessionally, Dida spilled Browns shot straight in mcdonalds path for the winning goal in the 90th minute. Then during the celebrations an idiot fan runs on past dida and with his outstreched arm touchs dida in the throat as he runs past. dida turns and runs after him for 3 or 4 metres then collapses on the ground holding his cheek where he was not even hit as he got "grazed" in the throat.

he then gets strechered off and milks it to the maximum trying to get celtic in more shit and maybe milan awarded the points.

celtic deserve to be fined for allowing this fool to run onto the pitch but i hope uefa take action against dida for feigning injury as fifa did when a few years ago i think it was chiles goalkeeper feigned injury after a fire cracker was thrown close to him and he was banned for bringing the game into disripute.
Very tru.:(

Even Ancelotti indirectly admitted that Dida acted. His behaviour was very childish, espeically when you know that there cameras everywhere and you can't act it. Dida should be heavily fined IMO even I know that's not gonna happen.

On the other hand Celitic will get a fine at least, the way their fans entered the pitch is something UEFA will not tolerate, but still it will be ridicoulus if they stripp off points form Celtic or ban them from CL.

P.S. How come that no one mentioned a "penalty" for Milan

UEFA to investigate Dida attack Wednesday 3 October, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UEFA will investigate the incident where a Celtic fan struck Nelson Dida, even though Milan have confirmed they will not appeal.

Moments after Scott McDonald’s last-minute winner at Celtic Park, a fan rushed out from the stands and clipped the goalkeeper round the ear.

The extent of the contact wasn’t entirely clear, although Dida was taken off on a stretcher. The Brazilian has since told police he will not press charges against the assailant.

It is the second time Dida has been involved in crowd trouble, as in the 2005 Champions League quarter-finals against Inter he was struck by a flare thrown from the stands at San Siro.

The game had to be abandoned as the fireworks continued to rain down on the pitch, making play impossible.

Milan – who were leading 1-0 at the time – were given the 3-0 victory and Inter were fined £132,000 as well as being forced to play the next four European matches behind closed doors.

The Rossoneri confirmed they have no intention of lodging an appeal against the 2-1 defeat in Glasgow, but Celtic could be heavily punished for the infraction.

UEFA director of communications William Gaillard told BBC Sport that the reports from the referee and match delegate had to come in before they would act.

Last season it was Gilardino who at Celtic Park, now it was Dida. And the stereotype of Italian football lives on. Thank you, Milan clowns.

Milan's goal was never a penalty, if a penalty were given each time such incident happen we will see 10+ PKs each game.

Dida' overreaction was comical as the move could never hurt him that much even if the crazy fan was holding a blade.

Milan's tactic was miserable, it is about time for Sir. Carleto to realize how his lovely tree formation sucks against team that defend well.
