Im extremley happy that Roma won.The fact that they beat Real at home makes it even sweeter. Its obvious that when Roma play to their potential, they can be very serious challengers for the CL.They've only moved into the quarters, but beating Madrid in Madrid is an achievment no matter how you look at it.I think they've now become the only team to beat Madrid twice at home in the CL.Every year they move into the CL with all the potential in the world, but they end up self destructing everytime.Hopefully, the Madrid win can make them step up a gear for the reamining of the campaign.Totti deserves to win the CL...and how wonderful would it be if only 1 italian side moves into the quarters along with 4 english sides, and that 1 italian side ends up winning the competition while the 4 english sides crash and burn:weee:
:howler: Ya, you would like that, wouldn't you? It's not going to happen though so prepare for being sad after an English side wins the competition. :weee:

Every once in a while Turk should try to add nuance to his posts.

"Me Turk, me like Juve, hate Inter" is not what I consider to be a very elaborate opinion.

I can see Roma drawn with Arsenal or Man Utd,and another 6 or 7 goals in their net.:)
I won't be so sure that they'll be humiliated again.
The 7:1 spanking from last year was a great lesson for the Romanisti.
They do posses a great quality, they play modern and attractive football and i believe they finally have the experience needed to do good in CL.
Totti, Perrotta and De Rossi already won a world cup, Giuly has great CL experience with Monaco and Barcelona, Panucci is an old wolf who already won the CL, Mancini, Vucinic, Aquilani and Pizarro have the required quality.
All of them have tough matches behind them from serie A and CL and they know how to play against a good opponent. If only the defense was a little better they'd have been one of the greatest favourites to win the Cup.

Now the draw will be very important for Roma. If they get one of Fener or Schalke and eliminate them (which is expected) then everything can happen till the end.
How will things stand in serie A and EPL can be another factor. We all remember what happened last year when Milan (who weren't fighting for anything and were resting their players for CL) played against injury troubled Manchester United (who were fighting for the EPL trophy).

And of course, luck will be the third factor. Everyone needs it in order to win the CL.

I hate to say it guys, but this AS Roma is a team I could support. Not that I ever, ever, ever will become a Roma fan though. Nonetheless, there was a a nice atmosphere at the Olimpico against Fiorentina and with Totti, Vucinic, Mancini, Aquilani and De Rossi they have some wonderful players. I also like the sad character of the last two.

Too bad there's always the agression and the lack of class. Otherwise Roma could become a cool club. But I guess that's where the difference between okay and great clubs lies.
Word.They have great team

Doni,Pizarro,Mexes and Juan are also great players. They have good coach as well but Sensi family is destroying them.Especially Rossella.

Silvio wants Sheva return
Thursday 6 March, 2008

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi has announced that he intends to bring Andriy Shevchenko back to the club amid a goalscoring crisis.
“I regularly hear from Andriy,” Don Silvio told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “And I believe that Roman Abramovich will have no difficulties letting him go.”

Drogba and Mourinho my ass. These fools will do the reconstruction with Shevchenko (32), Zambrotta (31) and they'll add one or two experienced Brazilians for the midfield (Gilberto Silva, Ze Roberto etc)

Moratti: Juve Our Real Rivals, Not Milan

Inter President Massimo Moratti says that he considers the Nerassurri’s main rival to be Juventus, and not Milan.

Inter and Juve have always had a fractious relationship, however things were transported onto another level following the Calciopoli crisis in the summer of 2006.

"Our rivals historically are the Bianconeri of Juve, that’s what tradition says,” Moratti noted.

“For me the real derby is with them: it is the derby d’Italia and it comes first to Milan.”

Inter have been struggling in recent weeks, losing two and drawing two of their last four games.

They face an uphill task to avoid being eliminated from the Champions League, following their 2-0 last 16 first leg defeat to Liverpool.

Moratti believes that even if Inter were to fail to progress, but still go on and win the Scudetto, it would still be a fine campaign for the club.

“If we win the championship, it remains a very positive season,” he explained.

Ahead of the second leg with Liverpool, Moratti also admitted that he still dreams of signing Steven Gerrard, even if he admits that it is unlikely to happen.

“Gerrard remains a dream that is unattainable,” the oil tycoon concluded.

He will if he'll see that you pay no attention to what he says and when he'll see that the only reply he gets is a warning or a ban from a moderator.
But if you keep calling him an asshole he'll never stop it and you'll be only joining him on the banned users list.

That wont help much, bringing back Sheva wouldn't solve their attacking problem.
