I was not expecting much from last night and i was not to be disappointed. 2 teams who basically put long ball tactics above short passing and great movement. It was not as bad as some of their other encounters but it was not great viewing either. Drogba was very good but he is always a better player when an opponents is very close to him as when noone is around him and he is with the ball, he does not usually know what to do and goes into blind alleys. Sheva once again was just shocking. Lampard actually had 1 of his better games for me whilst Cole wwas very good in the midfield. I tend to agree that Ferreira had his best game in along time last night but he was marking Zenden so it should have been expected. Liverpool never really looked like scoring and that surprised me a bit. I do nto see them beating cheslea 2-0 and I will be very surprised if Chelsea are not in the final. Benitez's choice for his first 11 was a shocker.

@Azzurri 7, why are you giving excuses for Gilardino, in fact why do people on here do that anyways, is it because he is Italian?, the guy is useless, yes he scores goals but he is completely sub standard. I never rated Andy Cole but Cole is a better player than Gilardino. I know Inzaghi has his critics but Inzaghi is a player that is so dangerous and a pain in the ass to contain, its unreal. He has 36 cl goals and I am not sure Gilardino has up to 2 or 3 to his name. At the highest level he is lacking

@Perkerface You seem to be forgetting that Milan are no great shakes at home in this competition either, they laboured to extra time victory over an ordinary Celtic, they dreww 2-2 at home with Bayern and lost 2-0 at home to the Lille that you quite rightly pointed out are a hopeless team
Man united are not good away in this competition but they do not have to win and Milan will go into the match knowing that until they are 2-0 up they cannot be comfortable as even 1-0 is dangerous as Manu united can always score and if you go gung ho against Man united, Ronaldo will tear you apart.
Whilst Milan have the completely hapless Gilardino to rely upon or the even the worse Oliveira.
He cannot play 2 strikers cos none of his permutations can play together so he has to go with 1 and personally i would go for Inzaghi

I dun understand as Juventini, y we should attack one another so often...
we can disagree with each other but we need to watch over our usage of language and attitude.
y we argue one another over other clubs beside Juventus is beyong me..
that's the way they express their love :toast:

Shevchenko was quiet yesterday cause The Special One played him more as a right winger than as a striker which is his favoured position. Sheva made a good run in the second half and Chelsea were unlucky not to score from it

Any news on Gattuso and Maldini? Are the injuries serious?

I didn't forget, I left it out.

I'd definetly play Inzaghi. There is always good to have a positive spark on the pitch who never gives up and encourages his fellow men. I don't think his game fits this kind though, but then again, I've said that like a thousand times and still he somehow manage to tuck one in.

Because some of the Juventini always throw cheap shots at the others, I am just defending myself.

They should both be back. Gattuso is more certain than Maldini though
Hope so, Brocchi playing would be the end of Milan. Bonera could do well, but Milan without Maldini isn't Milan.

By the way, both times Gattuso was down in that match the United fans booed him. "An Italian is down, I wonder if it's serious ", for fuck sake its Gattuso know your friggin players. I hope he comes back and shut up the Ronaldo is better Kaká talk for good.

That was a good run but it was his only positive contribution for 75 minutes. Not good enough.

That´s a good obeservation actually but I don´t blame all our miseries on Milan and I don´t open a new thread for bashing Milan every week. Everyone has his opinion, to me Milan is a disgusting football club, to you is Inter.
So what is the diff between opening a thread to bash milan and posting some posts making no sense?

To you milan is disgusting? sorry mark, but you proved me how much football you know, im not questioning your football knowledge but i think i now have an idea of your football knowledge.

If you would know a thing or two about this club, you wouldnt be calling them disgusting. but oh well

Oh please spare me, how many times did you hear me make fun of Milan? Twice maybe? A lot of members do that every day to Inter. And once again, Milan is a class club to you maybe, to me they are not class at all.
I'm not here to tell/ask you not to make fun...thats not my point. I disagree with you calling Milan disgusting. I'm not against making fun, making fun is something, and calling a team disgusting is something. need i explain the diff?

Milan isn't classy club to you, thats fine...but am sure for thousands of Juventinis who do know a thing of two about football know what a club milan is. same goes for milan fans, they cant call us disgusting, we're a classy team with classy history and players.

dislike them as much as you want man, at the end of the days, facts will always remain facts.

I'm not defending Gila because he's Italian....and I wouldn't do that, I'm not Italian, I have no Italian roots, I wasn't born there etc...and if that was the case I would be defending Pirlo in that post.

There's no doubt Inzaghi is pain in the ass to any defender, he keep on moving trying to get the ball, though as a ball control and passing Gila puts him behind him. Inzaghi has no ball control, most of the time is in offside and would do the same were he in Gila's place If there was no service...he isn't Henry or Ronaldo to make space and create chances for himself. same goes with Gila.

These kind of players from Gila to Trezeguet to Inzaghi and Toni and many other strikers you dont serve them, they dont serve you....so i would blame more the likes of Seedor and Pirlo for not serving the finishers. its as simple as that.

Finally! Someone who gets the joke. :D

And we all know Sheva is capable of so much more than that. Even if he was playing more towards the wing, Sheva has far too much ability to squander it like he has.

Everything about Gilardino's performance was horrible. You're right when you say he needs service but you're not gonna get service in a tight game if you don't move around and look for the ball. Gila's movement was non-existent and that's unacceptable for a striker. The least he could've done was a bit of closing down to help out the players behind him. Shevchenko sucked against Liverpool but at least his work rate was good.

Anyone sees Shevchenko leaving Chelsea at the end of the season?
Nah, I think he'll stay. He may say he doesn't have anything to prove but we all know that isn't true.

You don't have to have Italian roots to defend him, just liking Italian football is enuff. As for your reasons, well i am sorry but Gilardino was just terrible and its not just in this game, its in so many that I have seen at this level. He could not hold up play at all, and for a lone striker thats a perogative, he never moved into space or to wings to make way for others. He is in no way comparable to Inzaghi, yes he will be caught offside but that puts a question mark against defenders as linesmen don't always get it right and no matter what he always gets a chance in 90 minutes , he might not always convert them but he puts himself in a position where he always gets chances unlike Gilardino who did nothing at all

You think Gilardino simply isnt good enough or he's just having a pathetic season?
I don't think he is good enough for Milan, I think a second tier team in uefa cup is his level. Adriano is having a pathetic season but he is good enuff, Gilardino needs help from a world class forward close to him. I don't even think he is having a bad season unlike Adriano who is having a nightmare. He just is a good striker, nothing world class about him

Angry Milan fan puts goalkeeper Dida up for auction

ROME, April 27 (Reuters) - An angry AC Milan fan put Brazil goalkeeper Dida up for sale on the internet ahead of next week's Champions League semi-final return with Manchester United.

The 33-year-old, who joined Milan in 2000, was a hero after the shootout win over Juventus in the 2003 Champions League final but his popularity has slumped after a series of errors.

He was criticised following last week's 3-2 first-leg defeat to United at Old Trafford, when he flapped a Cristiano Ronaldo header into his own net and then left his near post exposed for Wayne Rooney to blast home a stoppage-time winner.

Dida failed to attract great interest on eBay. The price, before the Brazilian international was removed from the auction site on Friday, had reached 71 euros ($96.66) after 25 bids.
