dinamo zagreb! we really gave arsenal a run for their money. oh why, why, we didn't play like this in the first match??? anyway it was a great moment, should have ended better for us, but our heads are high, nothing to be ashamed of.

oh and i can't believe ajax lost!

cheers jack, what can you do?

reading the scoreline it would appear that 5-1 and 3 red cards over 2 games spoiled our chances but this does not begin to tell the whole story of this tie. we were killed due to refereeing incompetence, at least i hope that's all it was(i don't want to sound like an Italian conspiracist) however, these points really need explained,

example 1- bruno aguiar, sent off 2nd yellow card was for dropping the ball just behind the player at a free kick. interpreted as throwing the ball away and 2nd yellow means red. there was at least 5 examples of AEK players throwing the ball away over 2 games, none of them received yellow cards for this

example 2- julien brelliert, sent off. 1st yellow for wearing an earring, yes you heard that right for wearing an earring. AEK scorer julio cesar was wearing a big ring on his finger. you wear an earring you hurt yourself, you wear a ring you can hurt someone else. why was he not cautioned also?

example 3- brelliert given 2nd yellow for leading with an elbow, just before this he was elbowed in the face by an AEK player, where was his booking?

example 4-cesnauskas chases back and gets a foot on the ball, ref signals a penalty, 11 minutes from the end and down to 9 men and the ref screws us yet again by given the softest penalty i have ever seen. yet 7 minutes later jankauskas is fouled knee height, the ref waves play on as it has broken to an AEK player who runs on to score. where is the consistency??

Rob, since when UEFA refs were consistant? Since when UEFA did not favour teams over others? Since when UEFA did not wish for things to happen and made sure they'll happen?

It is sad to think about these things because they run the image of football but unfortunately they exist and they are being highlighted more and more every day.

I wonder which is UEFA's favourite team this year; could it be Barcelona again?

i have never seen television pundits so indignant with rage as they were last night. pat nevin(never one of hearts biggest fans) stopped just short of calling the ref a cheat who was in AEK's pocket, if you seen it you would have to agree

one thing is for sure, UEFA will do all they can to ensure Chelsea dont win it

I think I agree with you about Chelsea, but I really wish that Chelsea can just slam it back in their face with wins that they can do nothing about.

you should have seen our past nt coach, he was a commentator during the wc, on the holland-serbia match. he actually started insulting the ref, calling him a asshole litterally more than once. he was so furious they had to turn off his mic. :D

but what can you do? sometimes refs are just incompetent and favour a team, for whichever reasons i don't know.

That's what I'm talking about. I don't like the team and I never cheered for them but I really want them to win the CL just to upset everyone.

i don't have anything against them, only perhaps abramovich, but i really do respect mourinho. he is one of a kind and i would just love it if he gets the chance to send everyone to hell, and that will happen if they win the cl. the press conf would be wild.

and they call italian football crooked? FIFA and UEFA are the biggest crooks in the world and they obviously direct their refs to favour certain teams
