the thing about liverpool is that they have a very medicore set of players.and frankly,no one in their squad would be a part of any of europe's biggest sides other than gerrard and alonso.the english game has killed morientes.luis garcia is an over rated twat who had loads of luck with his goals last season, and peter crouch,he just boils my blood everytime i see him play - he's a shame to football.how sven goran erikkson can pick him over a much more talented and deserving player like jermain defoe is beyond me.cisse held a lot of promise, but now he cant find the net even if his life depended on it.jamie carragher was great last season, but it was 1 season, and that is it.
just take two world class players in alonso and gerrard out of the equation, and liverpool present a more sorry state than madrid presented after the 3-0 loss to barcelona.sure they won the CL last season, and their annoying fans claimed "the liverpool era is back.we will dominate again",someone should have reminded them that had it not been for a massive stroke of luck, they wouldnt even be in the CL rite now.they wudnt even have been in the final had luck not been on their side last season.
i remember 2 incidents very clearley :

1.del piero was fouled inside the penalty box by traore at anfield,it was a clear cut penalty, even the commentators agreed, but that idiot of a refree didnt give it.
2.the luis garcia goal against chelsea.it could have gone either way,and liverpool were lucky enough to see it go their way.

people talk about the final.other than a 6 minute spell of utter madness, milan had liverpool by the scruff of the neck.and when you compate 6 minutes to 114 minutes, then i guess its obvious which team deserved to win.sure, football is a cruel game, and lots of times they deserving side does not win,but liverpool did not deserve to win the final.it should have been milan's.period.

Lampard Fears Juve (Sky Sports)

Chelsea star Frank Lampard believes that Juventus present the greatest threat to The Blues in their pursuit of UEFA Champions League glory.

The London outfit are looking to improve on last season's semi-final exit to Liverpool, and remain amongst the favourites for Europe's biggest prize.

Whilst Barcelona are setting Spain alight, and team-mate Lassana Diarra recently highlighted Lyon as the biggest worry, Lampard currently believes that the Serie A leaders are the team to beat.

The midfielder also identified the summer signing of Patrick Vieira from Arsenal as a crucial move that cemented the Bianconeri's quality.

"I think our strongest rivals are Juventus," Lampard told Rai TV.

"They were already a great side before, but since Vieira's arrival they have been fantastic."

The French star has played a key role for Fabio Capello's side so far this term, and when injured or suspended he has been sorely missed by the Italian giants.

So it seems that we are really dangerous!:weee: ;)

Let's draw with them to make them see that in the pitch:pint:

non-existant??? so Gerrard decides to dive (remember, he's no RVN-he has no history of diving) instead of taking advantage of the excellent scoring opportunity he already has? come on! Gerrard isn't the type to do that at all!
I think that there was no reason for panalty, but I'm not the referee.

I'm afraid to start smoking our own crack just yet. But as many flaws as we have, as many chances there will be for us to fall falt on our faces, I do like our chances this year as our best since we were last in the CL Final. We are a pretty credible side for the CL this season. :strong:

Forza Juve!
I second that.

you win, you win. nothing can change that. 6 minutes of madness, wheatever, if Milan controlled 99.999% percent of the match, scored three in that time, while 'pool controlled the other 0.001% of the match, yet managed to score three themselves, well, that's efficiency for you. bit of guts as well

by implication-if you can't convert the 99.999% control of the match into enough goals to win the damn thing, do you deserve to win? I don't think so. Liverpool did more with less :D

i just got to say, thanks for those six minutes. one moment you are drinking beer with your friends watching milan win 3-0 almost getting depressed, 6 mins after that you are still drinking beer with friends cheering and screaming at what a great game you are witnessing

After the first half i was like, mind as well turn the tv off and do something else, like thinking about milan again got another euro trophy to their collection.....but i kept my tv on and things started to chanse.....

I have to say....it just had to go that way with the penaltys....milan didnt deserv to win that game with penaltys.....i would have been very mad if they would have won that game by penaltys.......
