Barca did not 'not play well'. It might not be their best, but they showed some real skill. Though Milan was lucky in the game, the real highlight of it was how Milan closed down Barca a.s.a.p and how little space they gave to Barca. Their defence was tight in that game, and Stam was exceptional.

whether we will or not is a different question altogether :undecide:

we're capable of winning it most years, we just... don't :(

Is anyone able to find out which teams play which in the next rounds? e.g. 1st in Group A plays 2nd in Group B etc

I'm very curious to know our possible opponents in the next phase, and all I could find on www.uefa.com/ucl is the match calendar that says

First knockout round, 1st leg 22 & 23.02.2005
First knockout round, 2nd leg 08 & 09.03.2005
Quarter-finals, 1st leg 05 & 06.04.2005
Quarter-finals, 2nd leg 12 & 13.04.2005
Semi-finals, 1st leg 26 & 27.04.2005
Semi-finals, 2nd leg 03 & 04.05.2005
Final (Istanbul, Turkey) 25.05.2005

Oh that's right. Silly me :wallbang:

I was just too used to International tournaments where you know exactly who could play who before the tournament starts.

I guess it's different because they have to seperate teams from the same country etc.

BERLIN, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Resurgent Bayern Munich could welcome back playmaker Michael Ballack when they travel to managerless Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday before next week's Champions League match at home to Juventus.
Ballack took part in training on Thursday for the first time since injuring his ankle in the 1-0 defeat at Juventus 10 days ago and said he no longer felt any pain, although coach Felix Magath remained uncertain whether to risk him on Saturday.


The loss at Juventus followed a 1-0 defeat by Schalke 04, but third-placed Bayern visit Moenchengladbach on the back of two victories, including a 2-0 win against league leaders VfL Wolfsburg on Tuesday.

The match marked the return to action of Claudio Pizarro. The Peruvian striker, out for a month with a back injury, scored both goals.

Moenchengladbach are in a crisis of their own, having sacked coach Holger Fach after a 3-0 loss to fellow strugglers VfL Bochum on Tuesday.

Amateur team coach Horst Koeppel will take charge in a caretaker capacity for the first time, and will be pleased to welcome back the league's top striker Oliver Neuville from suspension.
