Was he ever that good? He does the job. Makes no clear mistakes(doesn't take chances) and is invisible the whole game. He's a good passer but that's it. IMO

That's a fair approximation of Brighi's game of today, but back when he was with Bolognsa he used to tear it up with laser-like passing, hard tackling, brilliant runs and good long distance shooting. That's the form that would make him a star for Juventus, but he may never find it again.

I would just like to say that I think people are grossly underestimating Cambiasso. True, he didn't manage to do the defensive midfield work alone for Real at the start of the season, but he's still a very good player.

To compare him with Tiago, I think if Cambiasso played in Portugal he show who was better. There's a difference between Portugal and Spain, and also in the teams (he is the sole def. mid in Madrid, at least when Helguera plays defence). The South Americans mentioned could be good, but unproven in Europe. To compare him with our Primavera players is just ridicilous.
