Lamela would be an excellent acquisition even though he's a shit head, he is a quality player. But it doesn't sound very likely.

1) Have we ever dropped this kind of money in January? Especially for a player we don't need at the moment.
2) Where does Lamela fit in our team?

According to rumors he would come on a loan and the price would be set in the summer. Also we could play him in a 3-4-3, 3-5-2 as an attacking wing back , 4-3-3 and a 4-3-1-2 behind the strikers

Yes because Cuadrado was/is a WB. Lamela is simply an offensive winger, rather lousy at defending and much better when played closer to the box.

Last year he played as WB for most of the season; IIRC Fiorentina played 3-5-2 as well, could be wrong though. In Lecce 2 years ago he also occupied that spot, so you see he's type of player more fitted to play as WB, unlike Lamela, natural winger, his most effective position by far.

I see what you are saying but then again Asa has occupied the wb position and so has licht and neither one is a wingback. If Cuadrado is a wingback then he is terrible given his defensive capabilities being very poor.

Lamela at LWB, what's next Mata as a DM?

If he comes, he will play as a winger in 4-3-3. In that case one of Bonucci or Asamoah will be dropped.

That, or Conte might play him as SS. Still don't believe this move will be materialized.

One thing is to be shifted from LM spot to LWB, and completely other thing is when RWF is asked to play RWB. Cuadrado isn't brilliant defensively, nothing surprising there, but still he's more sound than Lamela when it comes to defending.

This. Lamela as a wingback is straight up retarded.
Cuadrado as a wingback is retarded and yet he is played there. I'm not saying I want him to come snd play as a wingback but its like bringing cuadrado here to play him as a wingback.

When Lamela comes he will play ss or as a winger

He might have played there a few times last season, but this season he plays on the wing in a 4-3-3.

This reminds me of the Bale scenario. Was mediocre as a LB and soon as he's moved forward he starts to kill it. A lot of players can do well in multiple positions but even more can't. Lamela doesn't look like the type of player who could. It would be a waste imo. Cuadrado being played there has no relevance at all upon whether Lamela can. Totally different players.

How? Its a waste of time to compare them but when Lamela comes we would essientialy ha e to change formations.
