Then you dont know much about football then, as the lad has been class. Be interesting who you seem to think is better in the prem ??? Im guessing it will be an Italian or another Foreign player!

You compared them, so lets go with it. Asamoah cost 18 Millio Euros's....and you say £8 Million is fair for Baines!!

I know its popular for you to slag off English players, for our over-rating of young players, but Baines is one of the bunch of players that only NOW is getting credit for his form.

The lad is 27, and been one of Evertons best players for 4 years, and in the time, Gibbs, Warnock and the likes have been put ahead of him beause of that English attitude.
And Asamoah is 24, so there is a boost in price right there. We overpaid slightly for Asamoah, but he is certainly a more usefull player than Baines. He's not even playing his primary position and is actually quite good as a wing back. Defensively more solid than Baines. Cole is better and so is Evra. I rate Baines on par with Clichy, Kolarov and the likes.

Baines is better defender that Asamoah, who is a terrible defender. If you dont see that, then you Italian bias has taken over you completely.

United want Baines to replace Evra, so that says alot. Cole is class, granted.

But Clichy and Kolorov FFS ???? 2 terrible players....or is it because 1 played in Italy, and the other's name end with a vowel. I see your logic!!

Their is NOTHING to suggest the 2 City left backs are better than Baines, and all we can actually compare is stats.

Clichy has been decent, but doesn't play as much as he did at Arsenal. Koralov is soooo inconsistent. If you combined the two they'd probably still be an inconsistent left back prone to defensive brain farts.

As far has English players go Baines is good. And underrated, even by English pundits. Over the last couple seasons he's probably been the best left back in the league. That said a fair price for him would be 10 to 14 million. What should Everton hold out for? As close to 20 as possible.

Asamoah's defense and athleticism are his two best attributes.

Evra has been rubbish for a couple of years now.

Cole is still the best English LB, but there's no question Baines is more effective than him going forward.
