Allen had slick passing on the counter and was a monster defensively. How many fouls did he draw in the second half from Felaini and Osman? He was definitely our biggest player yesterday. Everton had a ton of possession, but didn't really threaten in the second half.

Oh and I started following Liverpool in like 1998, far after the glory days. The only Liverpool I've seen has been mediocre to decent. So spare me the "glory hunter" attacks. I like the team because I like the team. It's as simple as that, if you have a problem then fuck off.

I wouldn't expect you to understand the intricacies of US football coverage in the 1990s. It isn't as if the likes of West Ham and Preston North End were shown regularly on the television. So it was pretty much a decision between the big teams and one happened to have an 18 year old player who in the eyes of a 14 year old was awesome. I could have cared less who Liverpool were at that time, all I knew was that they had Michael Owen who had just had a stormer of a World Cup and was at the time a big hero of mine. If that's gloryhunting then so be it. I'm sure there are a high percentage of users here following Juventus because of Roberto Baggio or Del Piero. Listen, I've got nothing against you other than your disposition on me. So I would dispense with the personal insults if I were you.

Back to the discussion:

I thought Everton did a decent job of maintaining possession, however they were toothless in the second half with no real clear chances. Liverpool I thought had more goal scoring opportunities, resulting in a clear winner being called out. This is in clear contrast to the end of the first half where Everton were fantastic. I thought Rogers did well to adjust in the second and switch to a counter-attacking style.

Strirling had a coupld of clear cut chances, but nothing on target, Jellavic had a clear header he missed.

Our momentum went, once Mirallas went off. He was terrorising Liverpool, Suarez was lucky to escape a Yellow for that challenge.

Also, so was Strirling for his 2 fouls.

Neville dived, and look how Everton as a whole dealt with it!!! Something for LFC to learn!

Anyway, I thought it was a good match overall. I'm not going to argue details with you. Pointless since we both see the same thing quite differently. Everton were physical, we were physical. It's a derby match, so it's always like that.

I think the highlight of the match for me was when some Everton fan threw a coin at Suarez and he pocketed it.
