See Gabriel's post.

Saying its a world class midfield is one thing, which i would agree with somewhat, but only after they give the same dominating displays in Europe(which very much could happen). Saying its the best midfield in the world is what i disagree with.
Well put.

To see people calling the Juventus defense of last season the best in Europe, despite not playing in Champions League and now calling Juventus midfield world class or even the best in the world, despite not playing Champions League yet, is beyond me.

What's wrong with caling our midfield world class it has all the ingridients for it. I bet you will see that in CL too. The best in world though... that's a bit overhyping it :D

Barca and Real both have better midfields without a doubt. One could make a case for City as well, and Bayern, though the latter two could be debatable.
I fail to see how they are better without a doubt. Barca..Pirlo>Xavi, Iniesta>>Marchisio, Vidal & Asamoah easily outclass the rest of theirs. Real, Pirlo>>Modric, Vidal & Asamoah >> Xabi (or Khedira for either) (4-2-3-1).

Not sure if trolling or serious

It's not like they're going to reach CL and fall apart. It's possible they might not be as dominating but with Pirlo dictating it shouldn't be too hard for them to be very dominant.

There's nothing wrong with it. But we haven't seen it dominate in Champions League and therefore you have nothing but your hunch and indications to prove that statement.

Being dominant in Serie A is no longer a testament of World Class quality. Sadly. I miss the 90s as well.

Well the same players showed they can do it on international tournaments.

Anyway, I do agree that they need to show it in CL to be considered among best in world, but to dismiss that they are world class just because they didn't play there is silly.

And it's not like I just watched my first game of football and i liked them and though they are world class. I have been watching football for some time now and seen a lot of players and teams and to me our current midfield have all the ingridients to be considered world class.

I don't dismiss that they are world class, I dismiss those saying it about a midfield that has never played [as a unit] in Champions League.

I expect Juventus to dominate most teams and I'll gladly call the midfield World Class when we hit 2013.

I just don't like hollow words. Like when people call Juventus' defense Europe's best based on last season.

Regarding their performances on International level, that's just not comparable.

We're not saying Juve doesn't have a world class team, we're saying, we won't label Juve's midfield world class until they prove themselves in Europe, which obviously they have a good chance of doing.

Well the best defence bit was a fact, not an opinion. It was the least conseded team from all the top leagues. You can argue for or against for as long as you want but the fact that we coneded the least won change. :p

Spain even played extra time and pens in the semis. :p
Oh ya :D

Xavi and Iniesta are miles better than the likes of Marchisio and Vidal.

Marchiso and Vidal will be down the pecking order in Barcelona. Not because the former two are poor, but because fucking Fabregas is a bench player for Barca.

Pirlo is better than Xavi. Iniesta is better than Marchisio and Vidal in attack sure but Vidal could break Iniesta in half and get the ball off him every time.
