Thought Arsenal played some good stuff today.
They were much more compact defensively than they have been for quite a long time.
Arteta, Diaby and Cazorla shat all over Liverpool's midfield and that decided the game.
Liverpool's midfield basically offered nothing, while Arsenal had drive from Diaby, finesse from Cazorlo and Arteta kept the shape nicely and protected the back four well.
Liverpool's midfield was actively harmful, as could be seen for the two goals.
For the first, Gerrard gave the ball away and Allen, who tended to be the deepest of the three, was absolutely nowhere near Cazorla, who he ought to have been marking.
For the second goal, Shelvey just decided not to bother to track his man.
Meant that Arsenal were given opportunities where they just had to stay calm in order to get chances, as Liverpool were fucking up so Arsenal didn't have to do anything particularly good.
