The point I'm trying to make is serie A players are heavily underrated outside of italy. While their english counter parts are rated as the next best thing since sliced bread. No one even knows who marchisio is ffs, he would walk into your squad easy, so would pirlo, and a host of other players. I'm sorry but english football doesn't compare to serie A for me personally. Call me biased but history has proven time and time again. This year being a perfect example, how does man city not get out of the group stage? and Man U do the same? And then the English media go on rants about how the EL final could be potentially more exciting than the CL final?

I disagree. Armero is a good wingback, i have my doubts about how well he can play as a fullback in a 4 man defense. Granted i don't really rate Santos that highly, but i do think he's a better all round fullback than Armero.

I'm not arguing for the English media, they are the most biased media you'll ever find. My point is, your not any different. City and United went out from the first round, true. Udinese on the other hand went out of the preliminary round against a very weak Arsenal team that had still not bought Arteta, Mertesacker, Santos and co. This is the first time in ages we have more Italian teams than English teams in the second round. I don't agree at all that Serie A is stronger than the EPL this season. IMO EPL despite suffering a huge dip in quality this season, is still superior to the Serie A, which you are overrating so much.

Dudes, EPL is still the better league, lets stop kidding each other. The best English teams aren't as superior as they used to be but the best Italian teams aren't (yet) stronger than they used to be in the last 4-5 seasons. Only Juventus, due to its style of play, could realistically challenge the best English teams, but the problem is that Juventus lacks individual quality and if we were in the EPL we too weren't gonna do great there.
The main problem with the lower quality in England compared to the previous years is the exodus of some top players and the aging of others, without replacing them. Even if we talk about new blood in EPL, it's concentrated in City (Silva and Aguero primary) while the others are still struggling to find the great Henry, Ronaldo, Drogba, Scholes, Beckham, Giggs, Gerrard, Lampard, Vieira, Fabregas, even Xabi Alonso, Carvalho etc.
Right now the gap still exists between serie A and EPL. I expect it to disappear in some years, but it won't be a surprise if it would take more than 3-4 years. The first thing that needs to be done is Milan, Inter, Juve and even Roma to get the best players from the smaller teams (Alexis Sanchez, Cavani, Hamsik, Pastore, Lavezzi, Hernanes, Jovetic) instead of letting them go to Spain, France, England and Germany, and then to add more such quality from the other leagues. Until that happens, serie A won't come even close to EPL, no matter how much weaker that league becomes with years.

Serie A is indeed becoming more competitive, but that is largely due to the fact that the big teams are lacking in quality, thus making it easier for the traditionally smaller clubs to challenge them (coupled with the fact that the smaller teams are better at unearthing/discovering talents, and holding onto them until a really good offer comes, usually from overseas). The Premiershit is indeed growing weaker, but it's clearly a superior league to Serie A. Serie A is nowhere near the level it was back in the late 80's to late 90's, or even the earlier part of this century. The general level of play, quality of players, and football in general has actually deteriorated. The fact that this Juventus team, with the likes of very average players like Pepe, Borriello, Bonnuci, etc... are leading Serie A is testament to that. I am glad we are doing well, but let's not lie to ourselves and actually believe that we can compete with the European giants!

I am actually more concerned about Ligue 1, and particularly the Bundesliga becoming superior to Serie A in the coming years.
