He's been very consistent this season, our second best player after Robin. Minus one blunder that almost ended in Aguero scoring, he's been an absolute beast in midfield. We've been overrun in midfield tbh, but i think Wenger and the boys expected that, don't think we were expecting to have the possession, defensively we've been quite solid, especially judging the circumstances(playing with makeshift fullbacks), the first 10-15 minutes were hell, but after that we did well to contain them.

Theo has been completely taken out of the game by Zabaleta, and is losing possession too many times, that is causing more pressure on us. The few chances City got, especially the Balo one, Szcezny dealt with it brilliantly. Kudos to him really, he's saved us in so many occasions and is imo one of the best young keepers in Europe.

Our focus is on trying to counter attack City whenever we get the ball, with the hold up play of RVP and the pace of Theo and Gervinho i really think we can stretch them. But two things need to happen that i expect not to happen, our defense and midfield need to be watertight for one, secondly we need Theo and Gervinho to be efficient, i'm sure they will get a breakthrough here or there, but it will be a rare opportunity so they need to take advantage of it when it comes. An RVP masterpiece won't do us any harm either.

From a neutral point of view though, City are doing almost everything right, they're pressuring us and pinning us back in our own field, they have possession and they're passing the ball around, if they keep this up, our defense is going to crack sooner or later. Barring Vermaelen all our defenders are extremely prone to lapses in concentration. With Silva, Balotelli, Aguero and the cunt Nasri around, one of them is bound to capitalize on one of those lapses.

That should have been a penalty against Micah Richards. It was right in front of the ref too, i don't understand how he could have missed it. Could have changed the game for us. It was a big game by our boys in all cases, we almost got an equalizer late on in the game. Wenger should have never took out Theo if it meant bringing on Arshavin, no way he could add anything to our team that Theo doesn't. Even if Theo had a poor game, i wouldn't have changed him personally.

We defended well relatively, especially with all our fullbacks and Djourou out injured. I hope they don't get too downhearted by the result, we absolutely have to beat Villa in 2 days.

Whether we deserved it or not i am not sure. They did play well and dominated the game for the most part, but we pressured them in the end, and we deserved our luck, Micah handed the ball obviously and it should have been a penalty. Knowing Van Persie he wouldn't have missed it.

But its a good performance by the boys, we should take the positives from this game.
