Scholes retires.....damn
Played his entire career under Ferguson for ManU, will get a function in the coaching staff of ManU.
The good news is that they now will put all their efforts in getting Sneijder.

i guess sneijder is not top target, primary targets is world class GK - De Gea, Stekelekenburg, Akinfeev and Ashley Young, because they need new blood on left wing

Scholes one of of the most underrated players of the Premiership era, if he had played in Spain or Italy and wasn't English he'd of won a few World Player of the Year awards.

'A few', yeah, sure. Ronaldinho and Ronaldo are the only ones to win it more than once (twice).

For the Ballon D'Or/FIFAshit see Alfredo Di Stefano (2), Johan Cruijff (3), Michel Platini (3), Marco Van Basten (3), Franz Beckenbauer (2), Kevin Keegan (2), Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (2), Ronaldo (2) and Lionel Messi (2).

I suppose Scholes was either better or on par with those players but suffered because he played in the Premiership and Champions League every season

 What fucking crap.

ROFL @ the Scholes cocksucking by the English commentators.

No doubt he was a really good player, one of the best passers of the ball in the EPL (for an English player), but in reality he is nowhere near the level of a lot of the players who have won the Ballon D'Or.

i dont give a fuck about ballo d'or anymore! Totti, Del Piero, Raul, Henry don't have this award - how this can be fuckin possible?! Maldini? and of course last season Xavi or Sneijder deserved this award much more than Messi but Messi won -_- and this season he will win again no doubt! and owen won this award in 2000 or 2001....LOL.......

Nah. Dispite being a great player, he was never really close to be considered best player of year 199X or 200X.
There are many other non-English players, playing outside EPL, who were just as good (or better) than Scholes and won just as much (or more) than Scholes, who never won ballon d'or. Players like Xavi, Pirlo, Del Piero etc.

"Zinedine Zidane once commented "My toughest opponent? Scholes. He is undoubtedly the greatest player of his generation", while Thierry Henry said "Without any doubt the best player in the Premiership has to be Scholes... He knows how to do everything."[60] When asked about Paul Scholes Manchester United and England hero Bobby Charlton lauded him, "Paul is always so in control and pin-point accurate with his passing—a beautiful player to watch."[61] Whilst Marcello Lippi remarked that Scholes is "an all-round midfielder who possesses quality and character in abundance."[62] BBC football pundit and former Liverpool defender Alan Hansen has described Scholes as "one of the top three to five players to have ever played in the Premier League" and commented "his passing, movement and technique set examples to everyone."[63] Current Manchester United team-mate Nani praised Scholes, stating "He’s the best midfielder I’ve ever seen. He can pass, score goals with his left, right, his head – he can do anything."[64] On several occasions, team-mate Wayne Rooney has cited Scholes as the best player he has ever played with.

In February 2011, Barcelona midfielder Xavi, also rated Scholes as the best player in his position in the past two decades. He said of the Englishman: "A role model. For me, and I really mean this, he's the best central midfielder I've seen in the last 15, 20 years. He's spectacular, he has it all, the last pass, goals, he's strong, he doesn't lose the ball, vision. If he'd been Spanish he might have been rated more highly. Players love him."[65]"

These guys area bunch of idiots who clearly know nothing about football.

Am I right.

Everybody here admitted that Scholes was a great player. What we would like you to tell us is when did he deserve to win those world player of the year awards. In which years he played better than the others and had a better season than them. You see, that's what those awards are. The winners are those who were the best in that particular year.
