I agree. It was a stupid move from Balotelli but to me some things influenced the decision: the crowd, the pool player who acted nicely, and Balotelli's bad reputation. Had it been another player, in City's home stadium, I doubt it will be yellow.

Hart saved City today, he single handedly got them the point. Pool did well to pressure City, Carrol should have been introduced earlier though if Dalglish was really intent on winning.

Silly sending off by Balotelli for all he's done this season, he can ruin it with a single moment of stupidity like today. If he can't get his attitude straightened out, he'll be another wasted talent.

I thought it was a borderline call.

That Balotelli had his eye on the defender, not the ball, and ran into Skrtel with his arm raised, but didn't make an effort to play the ball means that I wouldn't say the ref was wrong to send him off.
