What do people feel Hodgson should have done at Liverpool?

In the last few years, Liverpool have been a mediocre team + Gerrard and Torres.

Now, with Gerrard having been injured quite a bit, and with Torres hopelessly out of form, they are just a mediocre team.

Ancelotti is a good coach though. With a couple of signings, he'll get the ship righted.

That i agree with, with that said i have to admit that i'm surprised that he hasn't been sacked, we hadn't had a poor run of results as this one since Roman took over.

:agree:

Though they used to have a little more depth in past seasons than now.

Not lose to Blackpool, Wolverhampton, Northampton, Stoke, Sunderland be competitive against Blackburn, etc. Keep in contact with the EL and win an away game.

Do you realize that our current point earning is the worst since Liverpool came up into the First Division?

There is an understanding that the team is not as strong as the 2008, but we aren't relegation battlers by a long shot.

We want the manager to be accountable for poor performances. To show some ability during matches and to realize that the same tactics that worked with the players at Fulham aren't going to work at Liverpool. A manager that doesn't think Paul Konchesky is a top flight player.

All these pundits and fans that say Liverpool fans ask too much and should accept that we're a mid-table team can go fuck themselves.

We've been mediocre, like we were in the 90's and we were ok with it. But now we're just plain bad.

Do you feel the teams/tactics deployed against those shit teams were not capable of winning those games?

All this season has shown, as far as I'm concerned, is how ludicrously reliant on Gerrard and Torres Liverpool are, and have been for a few years.

And I get what you're saying with the Press. We get that sort of shit at Aberdeen all the time. 'Unrealistic expectations' is the media's favourite term with us.

At times yes. At times I've been impressed. For every one game I've been impressed with Roy, it's followed by three where he changes everything up and eventually goes back to the winning tactic.

As far as player placement. I thought using Kuyt on the left (he struggled there for Rafa), Meireles on the right (WTF), and the insistence on PFK every match. I also think guys like Pacheco and Shelvey who have been impressive during the EL could have helped on the wings.

Tactically, his insistence on serving long balls to Fernando Torres and David N'Gog is just retarded. The two are maybe 6'1 each. Playing the ball on the ground has and will get us results.

In the media, he's an idiot. From the get, he's been blaming the players. "Oh, these aren't my guys". "Torres is a diver, but he's a nice kid". "The fans aren't kind". "Liverpool have goals that are too high". It's not what you want to hear from the manager. How can you expect players to get behind a guy who will not stick up for you in the public eye? Sir Alex, called Torres a diver and cheat after a clear foul by O'Shea (who should have been sent off) after a match in which Nani spent no less than 60 minutes rolling around in the fetal position. Hodgson chose not to defend his best striker.

What I want to hear from a manager is this. "Liverpool is a great club, with great expectations, I will do my best to get there. Tonight we weren't good enough, next time we will be". Don't single out the players, the fans. Speak for the club.

Look I was pro-Hodgson. I thought, "Oh good he's English so he won't need to adapt. If we get new owners soon enough he can get some support. If not he can at least keep us within 8th by January. The media seem to like him so maybe we won't get bashed so hard this year."

I was mistaken.

Add to that his treatment of my homeboy D'Agger and it's not hard to see why the players quit on him.

Sorry for the length, but you did ask for it.

He's said some silly things in the media, I'll give you that.

I don't think he wants to play long ball to the strikers; I think the midfield has been poor so he's felt the need to bypass it.

Agger has been injured most of the time, hasn't he?

According to Roy... according to Agger he's been frozen out of the squad.

Well the thing is when we're home we tend to play decent football under Roy. Away.. we hoof. He played long ball to strikers at Fulham.

To be honest I wouldn't mind if Roy stayed on til the end of the season with a few conditions. Like, if we don't make the Europa League then he loses his buyout. Of course the last time Roy was in a similar situation with a better team we all know what happened.

Bringing in Dalglish and Thommo gets us in a similar situation, if results are the same. If results are good and Kenny wants to stay, but the owners want "so and so" then we have a bit of a pickle.

I don't think he was ever going to manage longer than this year, unless of course he managed to with the Prem or something.

Too many times Drogba is isolated as the only one to aim to in the box, Anelka has been terrible lately, Kalou has not got a clue most of the time and Malouda has been pretty bad as well.

I actually feel sorry for Drogba, at times he seems to be the only one working his ass off for the team from what i've seen. I've never really rated Kalou he's just a decent squad player, Anelka and Malouda i dunno, i haven't seen the last matches.

Still, we don't have enough depth to play a diamond, at least Ancelotti admitted that we need new players, IMO we need in almost every area. specially a CB and someone in Midfield, losing Frank for half a season really fucked us up.

Ramires is just plain awful, fuck him.

That Man City Arsenal match was so dissappointing to watch from City's part. They killed the game buy playing negative football. They lost the ball easily, couldn't keep position, it semmed as the players haven't played together before. Mancini played it all wrong starting Joe over Adam Johnson, and I don't understand his love with defensive midfielders. The build up to City attack was literally painful to watch. On the other hand, Asenal played good, but not good enough, they controlled the match position wise, and wasted plenty of chances, but they will never win anything with such display, they lack that killer instinct. They don't know how to put teams to sleep. This Arsenal team is always gonna be a second best with such display. Liverpool, is another team I don't like, but it's sad to see them go down like that. There needs to be drastic changes asap, and Hodgson should be the first to leave

I'd like a winger, a CB is a must, luiz, subotic, whoever as long as he's good.

I do feel we need a CM though, i wouldn't like to see Lampard get injured again and watch a midfield of Mikel, Essien and Ramires. (touches wood)

Chelsea just need a player that can dribble, some flair a good SS would do them well. Drogba works his socks off, he is really one of the only players doing it lately. I think Ramires is getting better, give him some mroe time.
