Hodgson prefers 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1, which really doesn't differ too much from the 4-2-3-1.

I can't really say until we finish signing players, which we haven't. If we had to pick a line up right (based on what we currently have) now I guess it would be this.

Gerrard is better at playing deeper than Aquilani. Aquilani has said before he prefers to play further up the pitch, and he's played his best matches there behind the striker.

I don't think Dani has ever played at left back, he's been great at center back and I think Roy will leave him there. Agger played on the left a bunch for us in the past (done well too) and could probably play there in a pinch. I guess Danny Wilson could play at left back as well.
