It occured to me tonight that a midfield duo of de Jong and Modrić would be absolute dy-na-mite.
De Jong is a monster one of the top DM in Europe. Modric is a fantastic player aswell. City do need a box to box midfielder because Barry does not cut it.

Corluka didn't play, Kaboul played as rightback, he's been playing there for quite a few games there. I think Corluka is injured, though i am not sure.

I watched bits and pieces of the game, so i don't know how Modric did, but let me tell you this, the reason Tottenham came back from being sixth to getting fourth place, a large part of this are the trio of Modric, Bale and King. Modric in particular has been an absolute beast for them. My god what a player, i'm a big fan of his.

Did Modric and Corluka play today? If they did, how did they do?
Corluka did not play.

Modric was rather quiet to be honest because De Jong man marked him most of the game and did a very good job doing so. He spread the play to Bale and Lennon a few times but did not make any of his trademark runs that he usually does. He kept dropping deep for the ball to try and lose De Jong and he does not operate to well when he is forced to drop deep. Had one shot that went way over but other than that I did not see any other shot he had.

Modric was stifled by Barry I'd say. You could see Luka coming into the game more when a lacklustre Viera came on.
But de Jong was one of my top 3 players on the pitch today and by far the best for City.
