Winning is a habit. I just think of Juve and inter Pre-calciopoli. It was almost a monopoly for Juve with complete domination, receiving competition from other teams once in a while. inter on the other hand hadn't won a title since 1989(?) and had the world of stars over the years. it's just the longer they went without winning the harder it became. Now it's the other way around and i would like if that trend is ended before it gets out of hand. Which is also why I would prefer if Milan won the Scudetto over them (although I really doubt it).

Well then this is a horse of a different story. Guss has a 1988 Treb at PSV and a 2009 FA Cup victory with Chelsea (best roster in the EPL). Bouy for Guus. Rafa's got more.

I'd still rather have a Shankly type thats going to be around longer than the next European Cup. Instead of a mercenary coach that might win a trophy.

I wouldn't really go in for comparing Hiddink to Benitez. In fact, it's very tough to compare Hiddink to anyone, due to his choosing, for whatever reason, to focus on international teams.

What I would say about Hiddink is that he seems to have the knack of getting the best out of players. He hasn't won much because he has spent much of the last decade getting the most out of players who aren't that good.

Even if he costs a heap, it's better to have a top coach and maybe have to have 5m less a year on the transfer budget.

Ferrara, unfortunately, shows what can happen when the opposite is done with a cheap coach and expensive players.

Benitez will find his feet somewhere else. He's not as poor as folks here make him out to be, for the most part. Just like at our club, he hasn't used his money wisely in general.

Aquilani was a laugh today in the defensive areas of the game. You'd think an Italian CM would be far better. Guess not.

I also think you guys have mercato'ed yourselves out of the ability to move between more than two tactical formations. There's really no natural width in the squad. So tinkering is limited, and that's got to hurt a manager. Especially when teams are just sitting back.

I just wouldn't want Hiddink at Liverpool, unless he could commit 5-7 years:

1) Success is great, but only if it has a future. I'm sure Ipswich Town still remembers its 62' Championship, but I'm sure they wish they were still in the EPL.
2) Our owners have shown no interest in doing what's right for the the club, for Liverpool to progress they need to GTFO.
