Typical finish this season for Liverpool. Domination early on. Stupid goal out of nowhere off an assist from Johnson. Then a silly red card. Oh well, there's always next season.

PS. At least Manchester lost and Tal Ben Haim is still a pussy who wheres his shorts too high.

Saturday 19 December, 2009
[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Roberto Mancini has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Manchester City this evening, announced the club.

"Roberto is a hugely experienced manager with a proven track record of winning trophies and championships. His experience and track record speak for themselves,” said chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak in a statement.

“What is absolutely clear is that Roberto believes in Manchester City's potential to achieve at the highest level and importantly in his own ability to make this happen. My hope is that our incredible fans will join us in welcoming Roberto to the football club."

Manager Mark Hughes has officially been fired after a slender 4-3 victory over 10-man Sunderland today, although his fate had allegedly already been sealed regardless of that result.

Mancini has been out of work since he was sacked by Inter in the wake of a third consecutive Scudetto title in May 2008.

This is his second spell in English football after making four appearances as a player for Leicester City.

"Prior to the current season beginning, with significant investment in players and infrastructure in place, the consensus between the Board and coaching staff was that appropriate agreed targets should be set for the 2009/2010 season," continued Al Mubarak .

"The targets were agreed as a result of the player acquisition strategy of the club being radically accelerated in the summer as a result of very favourable conditions for any buying club.

“It was also based on the fact that the infrastructure of the club had been overhauled completely at great cost in order to create the best possible environment for the team.

"A return of two wins in 11 Premier League games is clearly not in line with the targets that were agreed and set. Sheikh Mansour and the Board felt that there was no evidence that the situation would fundamentally change.

“This is a particularly difficult announcement given the personal investment over the past 15 months on all sides and we would like to put on record our respect for and thanks to Mark Hughes and we wish him the best in his future career."

This will be interesting i must say. I want to see how Mancini does in england. Its either nightmare waiting to happen, or he will do better than previous managers. City does have decent material there. Mancini can also bring couple of new players in the winter brake.

In a way its a good timing, Mancity has money and Mancini can bring new players in January transfer period.

Can we please sell them Tiago :seven:

Inter will probably sell Materazzi to him or smth.

Fred will like that one Belhadj on his right foot and beats Reina at his near-post.

that was a brilliant strike. He played very well today, despite being played out of position.

Liverpool are a mess really. They barely created any chances at all, they don't have a gameplan, they don't have any real creativity and they can barely string 3 passes together. I have always defended Rafa and this is the first time(season) where i'm going to say this, but he just has to go.

By the way what has happened to Agger, he was so solid in his first two years. Now he's a disaster.
Maybe its the injuries?

I don't know, whatever the reason is, he has been downright terrible whenever he's played this season. It wasn't any different today.

Yeah but I would blame Man U CBs as much with that, especially Carrick, they seriously gave him all the time in the world, and Carrick was even nice enough to step aside instead of stopping the shot.

But Scholes been a joke in general in this game.
United tried playing with a 3 man defense to try and mask their deficiencies but to no avail obviously. Zamora bullied and hassled them all game long, they just couldn't find an answer for him. Duff was also brilliant.

Scholes played his worst game in a long time. He was the worst player on the pitch today.

Mark Hughes is an excellent manager and is doing well with city for the players that they have, not a single WC player if you really think about it, well maybe shay given :D.

We've seen that Mancini can just barely perform with the richest club in the league and no competition, if they do appoint him City wil flop and I will laugh quite heartily indeed.
Thats bollocks, Hughes has done a really poor job at City. The players he has at his disposal in terms of depth and quality are just as good as Liverpool and Arsenal. Actually in terms of depth he is much better than Arsenal.
