I thought so, although I hoped this wasn't how they play.
Luka can easily take one of the two spots in CM but as Red said, it might kill the balance in the team.
Redknapp has publicly stated that he's too lightweight for the position too. So i think we can rule out the possibility of him playing there.

Ramos gave him a go as an attacking midfielder last season. He played him behind the lone striker who was Pavluychenko at the time. Modric didn't do too well there, he didn't look so comfortable that high up the pitch. I don't know if you agree with me, but i think CM is his best position, like he plays for the NT.

That is most likely the case but isn't Pavlychenko out the door soon?
Ya he is. He'll probably be sold in January. He along with Bentley. Keane has been deployed as a left winger at times this season. So i think he can play on the left if needed. So in the end you can have only two players fighting for that lone striker position.

Box-to-box CM, with as much of the ball as possible is what gives the best out of Modric.
Thought so

Man, we picked the worst time possible to play bad WC qualifications. Corluka, Niko and Luka playing in the same team, Pranjic and Olic also playing together in Bayern, would have done wonders for our WC campaign.
But the idiots fucked it up.

Bah, now we need Bayern to buy Srna for the right side and our pair of CBs, whoever they are, to sign for the same team, and we're ready for a great EURO 2012. :D

You guys have some pretty sick players. Its still beyond me how you were incapable of qualifying.

Didnt watch any of your games other than the home game against England. So i don't know what really happened there.

Corluka, Modric, Kranjcar, Srna and Eduardo if he gets back to his old form are all

Rakitic and Olic look good too.

Indeed, what's worse is they're all playing regulary now and pretty much kicking ass, especially Ola. If they continue like this throughout the season, we're gonna bang our heads on the wall come WC time all over again. :wallbang:

Not that it's an excuse, but injuries have really plagued us.

Just do what England did at the Euros.

Sit at home saying it just not the same without you and then declaring at the end of it you would definitely have reached at least the final. :D

The fucked up thing is that we didn't have awful WC qualifications. We were still better than Portugal, France etc, but sometimes, as it was in our case, it's not enough.

We finished the qualifications with 6-2-2, our only 2 defeats coming from England and our only 2 draws against Ukraine.
The English were better than us whichever way you look at it. They did to us what we did to them in the previous qualifications. But even with a superior England, all we needed to do was to beat home and away the worst 3 teams in the group (which we did) and beat Ukraine once.
We drew Ukraine in Ukraine, which isn't really a bad result, but we had to beat them at home. We played 2:2 and we had God knows how many chances, including hitting the post and the bar few times. Normally we could have won that match 5:2, but that night the ball didn't want to go in more than twice so it ended 2:2.

But even this way we could have qualified with a slightly different schedule. We played England 3 rounds till the end while Ukraine had them 2 rounds till the end. By beating us, England secured the 1st place so they went to Ukraine relaxed, without needing to win, and they lost.
If Ukraine played England 3 round before the end and we played them 2 round before the end, things would have been different. The English were gonna go for a win in Ukraine and they wouldn't have lost. England not losing in Ukraine was gonna be enough for Croatia to qualify as 2nd placed. But the English didn't need pts in Ukraine and they lost.

So what you mean to say is that you didn't qualify because the English are pricks.
Exactly :D

An English guy told me that it's karma and how they didn't do to us anything different than what we did to them, but imo it's not the same.
The English didn't need the pts so they didn't bother at all and they lost. We didn't need the pts but we played fair till the end and we beat England. Even if we didn't beat England back then, we could've still said that we gave our best till the end. The English can't say that.

That is some fucked up shit. Believe me i can relate, the same thing happened to us(Libya) in the African Qualifiers. We had the same points as Gabon and Ghana, we beat them both at home, but come we lost 3-0 to Ghana at Ghana and went out by goal difference as we ended the group with inferior goal difference to both teams.

Qualifers can be really harsh sometimes :frown:

yo fred fabric ass is out?

terrible news for my fantasy team...
At first it looked like it was serious. But thankfully the latest reports say he is only going to miss the home game against Hull.
