I had a 5 match coupon and Liverpool to beat Arsenal was one of my bets.
I was perfectly aware how bad you are this season, but with Torres' comeback, with Gerrard apparently being 100% fit and with Arsenal playing without bunch of important players (even Rosicky was injured few days ago), I thought it's bloody time for a good result.
But at the same time, this is our first game with everyone "fit". So there was bound to be some mixing up.

I had six match coupon, I bet on Monaco and should I say that they lost 4-0 at home :wallbang: Oh, and that was the only bet left for me to win the ticket :(

Alen, stay away from Arsenal, buddy. It seems as if everything you've said or done regarding them has been wrong, from Eduardo to Clichy to their matches. Stick with Italy. :D

Pool is really doomed now. Disastrous season, just like ours, except comparatively worse since they are currently out of a CL spot. They won't secure the spot either.

In other news, London's School of the Mentally Challenged was present at Anfield for the match. They were very happy with the result. All the kids had a smile on their faces.

Wow i never expected us to win this game. Normally when our rivals lose points and we have a chance to move up the table we bottle it and choke. But not this time.

We played a horrid first half and were lucky not to concede more than one goal. Almunia has always been a joke and a liability so no surprises in the Kuyt goal.

Song played one of his poorest games this season, he couldn't handle the pace and tempo of the game. He is obviously more suited to slower paced games. Denilson was his usual mediocre self, losing possession 50% of the time, getting brushed off the ball too easily and generally being an pain in the ass for Arsenal fans.

Arshavin though i am sure can be more consistent this season really turns up for the big games. Yet again he scores against Liverpool in Anfield and what a goal it was. Talented player if only he could sort out his mentality a bit.

Man of the match for us was Vermaelen though, he has been such a great signing. What a player!

Just read a quick report on tuttomerkato suggesting Man City's next season line up:

(4-3-3) : Buffon - S.Ramos, K.Toure', Terry, Lahm - Gerrard, Barry, Ireland - Ribery, Adebayor, Tevez.

Manager: Mouri

About Kuyt, Is it a coincidence that he always scores plenty of goals every season with all being ugly, rebound goals like this one?
The first season i watched Kuyt i admired his work ethic & his effort.. reminded me of Zanetti's... he too never misses a game.. but I never thought he was talented at all.
Seriously, He is not close to being the best at anything in the game.. he is average at almost every aspect in the game..
Shooting, Dribbling, Pace, Passing, Defending, Crossing, Heading.. ALL Average.
Yet every season he ends up with a load of goals and assists considering that he is a midfielder.

I think of him as a man made football player that became world class through PRACTICE and nothing more.
He is very useful as his numbers speak for themselves and neither age nor injuries seem to affect him.

What do you think? is he a player that is ALWAYS LUCKY EVERY SEASON or is there some talent in him that i don't see.

He's not lucky, it isn't coincidence. He's got a huge work rate for a striker (he's not a midfielder, he just plays there) and his positioning is good, in addition to that he's really not bad at anything. Like you said he's average at most aspects of the game except his work rate and positioning, those are exceptional.

He scored a few goals in the Euros from being in the right place at the right time, so his 6-8 goals a year and 6 assists a year are far from coincidence. If you (a player) know where to be you don't really need to be world class in any category, just well rounded. Last year he scored a few goals in the 4-4-2 as a striker.

I agree completely with what you just said.
I like him more as a midfielder than as a striker (and so does rafa by the looks of it) Its astonishing how he can switch positions yet maintain his scoring/assisting numbers. I wonder what pool will do if he suddenly gets injured or goes out of form.

Have you seen him play in the dutch league when he was the top scorer? I didn't and i am wondering how was he?

He was a striker and that's all I know. I think Kuyt is playing too much though. He's tired. Which explains why he was slacking for a while.

He is not slacking. He is just not as influential when the whole team is shit. He is a player that compliments the holes in pool's squad. Now the holes are too big and is stuck running around chasing the ball the entire match. In the Arsenal game, liverpool dominated and so he did his running job and his scoring job.
I bet he will end this year with the same number of goals and assists he usually does... that is if pool wake the fuck up. :sergio:
