Its confirmed Van Persie has torn his ankle ligaments. Big blow to our season, we do not have any fit striker other than Eduardo, and there is already question marks over the latters fitness levels.
The fitness level might be a problem, but form wise, i think Dudu is finding his touch again. He scored a great goal for Arsenal few weeks ago (counted as own goal for the defender, but it was all Eduardo) and he scored a brace yesterday for Croatia.
He's a tough guy mentally so I think he'll do just fine now that he knows that his team depends on his goals.

The English commentator after the brazil vs england friendly (brazil totally outplayed england in this game):

"We have just seen the best two teams in the world, and if not for the missing key english players we can clearlly say that england is the best in the world right now" :shifty:
 :howler:
They will see how "good" they are when they will be eliminated in the round of 16 again.
They will make the quarter finals at best

Big blow to Arsenal, they have seemed to make a pattern recently out of starting the season off brilliantly before fading as the months pass

I think England will reach the semi-final at best and the Queen will give Capello some fancy title and beg him to stay for another 4 years or so till they reach another semi/quarter final then he'll retire and England will never have another WC until they manage to host/steal one.

I hope so. But i also have my reservations of him fitting in our new formation. I'm not sure if he is physical and strong enough to play as the lone striker in our 4-3-3. I think he fits more in a two man attack.

In all cases, this is his chance to prove himself. Injuries and setbacks have prevented him from having any real chance of establishing himself in the first team and proving himself at the top level. But this is his chance and he should not blow it.

Liverpool could do worse and try to get that Spanish Alonso fellow in January.
He would be the solution to their midfield lack of creativity, and be the difference to being a team fighting for a top four place, and one fighting to win the league.

Fred, really, how good is Bakary Sagna? And when both are fit, who's better, Clichy or Sagna?
Sagna has been superb recently, both for club and country. I always believed in Clichy and his abilities, but he has been average for two years now. This season he has been inconsistent. Clichy is mentally fragile and he still has not fully recovered from the Birmingham incident where he practically cost us the league.

Right now, i'd say Sagna is quite easily the better fullback. Sagna is a beast
