He has surprised me quite a bit, I must admit. In Hajduk I never saw anything truly special in him, he was their leading scorer but a lot of those goals were from penalties...but Hajduk as a club was much, much weaker than Dinamo and I suppose that diminished his potential a little bit. Then he got a move to Blackburn and even if it's an average team, he has already put on a few good performances and is actually making a name for himself. All in all, I'm glad for Kalinic, hope he kicks it up a notch next year.

I don't know if EPL has become the mecca for Croatian players lately, but seems every one that goes there ends up pretty good...unlike before when players like Balaban were our main export.
