No, I meant the year 2009, not the season 2008/09. I had the impression that he played better and scored most of the goals in the first part of 2008/09, but it looks like I was wrong.
I can't really remember which half of the season he scored more goals, but i can assure you he was really good in the second half of last season.

It's a travesty that Torres didn't make the top ten, and Rooney did. He's clearly the worst player out of the shortlist for the award, without a doubt. It's a crime, quite frankly. Messi, Iniesta, Ibra, Xavi, Gerrard, Drogba, Ronaldo, Kaka, and Eto'o are all miles ahead of Rooney in terms of ability, and are indeed world class. Rooney is not on the level of the aforementioned names on that list, and also the likes of Torres and Cesc, two individuals who were far and away the better players than Rooney last season -- and always. It is a fucking crime.

But of course, the hype wins out.

World class. :rolleyes2
What did drogba do last season? win a cup?
He scored 5 goals in the league... the year before it he scored 8. Rooney outscores him even though it wasn't his job.

And Eto has been proving this years that Barca made him look good.

and you just did the same thing again. You call me unreasonable, yet you ignored every point i made. in my long boring post.
Where was my reasoning wrong? what did i miss?

Maestral display by Kranjcar against Villa. Take that Cruello. :p

If there's one player I'd love to see prove the doubters wrong, it's him.

I never claimed i was. I just LOL @ you and nick defending the claim that you'd rather face chelsea in the CL than arsenal. Or the other dumb claim that our starting 11 is better than chelsea's. or the dumbest of all claims which says Rooney is not world class and defoe is better.

oh have you seen the ballon D'or finalists?
Rooney is in the top 10 :snoop:
:sergio: now while i would bitchslap anyone who claims Defoe is better than Rooney i think him being in teh top 10 there is absolutely absurd.
i am not one of teh Rooney haters,in fact i think he is a bloody terrific player, but he is nowhere near the level of Villa,Aguero,Ibrahimovic,Torres,Drogba,etc.....his hype, however will make him despised as it far outweighs his talent

From rjginblueoz on 606: "If Barca and Real played a season in the Premier League they would be lucky to finish in the top half."

 that was a fantastic game of football last night and either team would have wiped the floor with Liverpool,Arsenal, and probably have beaten Chelsea and manure going on last nights performance. EPL fanboys should be worried, because if Real can avoid an Italian team in teh knock-out stage si fancy both teams to be in the last 4 easily

 but he engrish,he get to chapions reague finar,he must be bestest

Please don't discredit the holy joly EPL and its saint like players. The kick & run is league has similar economics to Dubai and is going to crash one day and go back to where it belong and used to be. Eventhough these ignorents claim they have better league, but I would still rather watching Italian midtable teams like lazio/sampdoria/napoli/genoa over the the english top 4.
i ahve been saying this for a few years now,and when teh bubble bursts i will be dancing over the grave of most EPL clubs

Watched the game, Kranjcar had a decent game, had a few shots on goal and a number of nice passes.
I did not watch it, only the highlights, but I read everywhere he had a monster of a game and that Harry was wrong to sub him out at the latter stages. You have monster standards or the rest are full of shit. :D

Either way, this guy is the steal of the century.

I don't think he had a monster game, he lost too many balls for his performance to be considered that good. Aston Villa actually defended really well and didn't give Tottenham's midfield enough space to work with.

I also think Harry was right in subbing him off. He was a goal down and he needed to make attacking reinforcements, he had R.Keane on the bench, he didn't want to take off either of the two strikers and he didnt want to take off their best player this season Lennon(even though he didn't have a good game, he was marked out of the game). The only option was removing Kranjcar.

Well in my defense, most of the sites I read it from are Croatian.

Well that explains it. :D

How highly do you rate him btw? Reading your posts it looks like you rate him very highly. My impression of him is that Tottenham is as high as he can go.

If I'm gonna be objective about it, I'd agree with you.

But like I said, if there's one player I'd like for to beat all the odds and do something extraordinary, it's him. He's not overly popular here because of his move from Dinamo to Hajduk, but he didn't deserve 2% of the shit he recieved. He's such a humble and nice person, I can't understand why people crucified him so.

Oh and I played football with him once, when he was 16, 17. :D

You did? What a small world. Was it obvious that he was going to make it then?

Take Aguero out of this list. change "nowhere near the level of" to "right behind"
and i think i totally agree to your post. :agree:

Yeah, man. :D But not like we know each other, he came to my school's playground with a friend of his and played a game with the guys that were there(I was one of them). Not like Zagreb is that big of a city.

It was that obvious and it proved to be his downfall. FFS, they made him captain of Dinamo when he was 18. :disagree: They forced all kind of obligations and expectations on him, his development suffered...in the end, they ran him out of the club.

Now that is a truly special player. The reason Tottenham's results went down for a while is because this little wizard got injured. IMO Modric can go to many big clubs and start.
True that. Fucking thug Bowyer.

There was huge speculation Fergie wanted to give Carrick + 15m for him. I don't know how I'd feel about him in Man U though. :(

Don't be so selfish and think of his career :D

I think he would be a hit at United, i heard Fergie wanted him too. Only problem is United do not have any real ball winner in midfield, and it would be hard imagining a midfield duo of Modric - Fletcher or Modric - Anderson. I think if Fergie were to go for him, he would opt for a 3 man midfield.

Oh and its not only Bowyer thats a thug, its the whole Birmingham team. Bunch of classless cunts really. Probably because they have a smug cuntish manager.
