I see. Age old case of old money being better than new money. Really there are very few teams in the world who's success hasn't come from some guys pocket book at one time or another.

Cunts talking like cunts talking about cunt things and cunt trivialities is really nothing to get upset about. Expecting clubs not to try and better themselves is just really really naive. What are they supposed to do? Petition against their club for selling itself to a really really wealthy group?

I don't have anything against clubs using copious amounts of money wisely.

Blowing 50 million Euros one player who isn't worth it doesn't do the game any good though.

My club was built on influxes of money, yes, but we actually started up through the grass roots of the game, worked our way up in success, and then received more and more money from the Agnellis. That is the exact OPPOSITE of Man City. Then, even in our best years, we had to be smart with our money and sell players so we could buy others. We have never been in the same position as a Chelsea, Man City, or even Milan for that matter. The Agnellis have never been an Abramovich to us.

If people don't understand the difference between cases such as these, then that is quite sad. All this money pumped into only a few clubs is going to hurt your favorite league in the long run, Enron.

there's nothing wrong with a club buying a good player, not at all.
Think about it though, chelsea can only afford to splash out 32milion on a new player every now and again. But now with city there are no limits, one of the chief abu dabi guys that is running the club said he would offer 135 million for c.ronaldo.
Now i'm not going to jump to conclusions here, there is still time for this whole thing to pan out yet, this is only one buy as you said. but then again they confirmed that the club went crazy offering in a total of 300 million for some of the worlds best players in the space of a night. I say this time next year we will be able to see what direction this club has taken.

No, they can't buy every great player in the world, no one could ever do that, It would just be too complicated not only financially, but a lot of players are through and through with their club. Just look at players like gerrard.

If they have money, it doesn't matter, they'll attract any player as long as he isn't loyal to a club.

Saying that we don't know what will happen is avoiding the point when it's obvious that if the deal goes through, they will have potentially half a billion at their disposal for club purposes.

Let me repeat and rephrase so that you may understand, Andrew. If those guys had purchased Juventus yesterday and purchased Robinho. Who here would object?

Why you have to revert to the long known story of the Agnelli's investment is beyond me. I didn't say anything about that. But still without the Agnelli's cash Juventus's final jump to the elite of football would have been more difficult.
Same can be said for Milan, Bayern, Man U, etc (probably even my team too).

Football is changing, kind of but not really. For the past 20 or so years the same teams have dominated football. Those teams have been the wealthier of teams, anywhere in the world. Some have built up decent youth systems others haven't. I guess that divides teams between ethical and unethical. Whatever that means. The truth is there are really two things changing in football... size and faces. With teams like Chelsea and City you have richer teams and new faces. But whether City's new found cash will equate to long term success is still to be seen.

The thing I've noticed (my club too) is that all the old boys of football seem to have the entitlement thing going on. City hasn't won anything yet, so what it is they don't deserve?

Sure I understand the ramifications of huge sums of money floating around in transfer season. The thing is someone is going to have to do something to regulate transfer spending. Not just in England. Platini is going think a little harder than 6+5. Think of what would have happened to the market if Real had gotten Ronaldo for 100mil. Riera would have cost us like 30. I really do understand what could happen to the EPL, but really I'd rather watch my team play because there is very little anyone can do right now. And I'm certainly not going around say that City doesn't deserve all the success they haven't gotten like some entitled snob.

I always have a belief that such a club will never win big. They might win once, but that would be it. Look at Chelsea and compare them with Man U. Who has won more in the past 5-6 years?
Same goes into the Italian football, just before the Calciopoli, Inter was not winning at all. Alot of money was spent without any glory gains. THATS why we were relegeated!! With us around, it was impossible for them to win. 10 years of splashing out money did not do him any good except a couple of Coppas.

And look at them now, this past season if it wasn't for "the ref errors" factor they would have finished 3rd, behind us and Roma.

Wether you are a moggi hatter or a fan, you cannot deny that he and the rest of the Triade were a great financial managers and an excellent football club builders.

anyway i don't think this will be any long term investment, the thing is ppl tend to think that Dr Al- Fahim is a dumbass, but trust me he isn't, he is planning a Chelsea in ManC. But the company isn't owned by him alone, he have shareholders who started to ask some serious question about this investment, and splashing a 135mil on C.Ronaldo is just a way of adv. for him he knows better than that but he just want to showoff. on the other hand, this sort of investment will open the door for other companies in Abu Dhabi and dubai to enter the market and buy other clubs if u consider Al-Fahim comany a rich company think again, this is a small company considered to the big guns we have here and if they entered the market then football as a game will end.
