Fergie's a great manager, but they key difference between him and Benitez is that Ferguson goes for a more direct solution, ie add more attackers, where as Benitez usually goes for a substitution that he thinks will improve the team or nulify an opossing threat. Both have strengths and weaknesses, but certainly today Fergie fucked up, Carrick was key for them. After the substitutions they actually looked less likely to score
