Case closed. What a douche you are. You've offered nothing objective at all in this debate. Just your personal opinion about how good he is. I've done the same, but at least I've offered up something in regards to showing his record in International play, CL play, and against top teams like Juventus is appallingly bad. Sorry. Case closed in my favour. You're so pathetic it's quite amusing, with your Totti nut hugging.

God. Cheer for Roma a little more, and worship Totti. Which regardless of your denials, you clearly do. You obsequious Roman sycophant.

If you think he's even close to the player Thierry Henry was, you're insane and delusional. On lists of greatest players of all time, he's never even going to be close. His career and achievements and numbers speak volumes about his ability, especially on the big stage, which you have yet to counter. He was invisible and screwed over Italy in 02 WC, and then again in 04 Euros, red card in both, and multiple match ban in the latter, and then was invisible for most of 06, aside from scoring a penalty that was a joke of a call. But sure, he had a good Euro 2000, that makes up for the shit he pulled and the terrible performance he gave in three straight tournaments after.

And you guys are retarded. Zidane was by far the best player of Euro 2000. Totti.

DP84 is one of the worst members here when it comes to offering an argument. He'll usually laugh at you when you say something he doesn't agree with and then give his opinion as if it's set in stone.

It's amusing that PostIronic emphasizes Totti's NT misfirings while Henry never did anything for the French NT apart from that goal against Brazil in 06 and that handball against Ireland
That same Henry that scored 6 WC goals for France and 5 European Championship goals? The same Henry with 51 National team goals in 123 matches.

Never did anything. WTF. Are you serious.

Totti scored 9 National team goals in 58 matches. If Thierry Henry did nothing for France, Totti was playing invisible ghost for Italy for all those years.

Tell me, how many of those goals were in crucial matches?

Scoring a bunch of goals in group stage games and in qualifying matches and friendlies doesn't make up for doing jack shit in crucial matches.

Also, Totti played way deeper than Henry, so obviously he wasn't going to get as many goals.

Oh my god. You're hopeless. Totti scored 3 goals ever in WCs or Euros. 4 of those tournaments total. His 1 WC goal ever was a penalty. 1 of his Euro goals was a group stage goal. He was still an attacker, and 1 goal from every 6.5 games internationally is appallingly bad. You've got to be kidding me with this shit.

I'm on a Juve forum. I've clearly stated I was using hyperbole when stating Henry was a million times better, and that Totti is only slightly better than Di Natale. But he's still nowhere near the level of Thierry Henry, and he's not some god way up above Di Natale.

You guys are defending him like this is Chiesa Di Totti. It's fucking disgusting. Juve fans. :sergio:

Nowhere near the level of Thierry Henry

Seriously, your hate for Totti really clouds your judgement. I can't stand Totti, he's a piece of $#@!.

However, one cannot deny his talent.
I've alread said he's talented. He never made the most of it. He could have been an all-time great, instead he's just a very good/borderline great player who had inflated stats on a mediocre team for most of his career and was mediocre himself on the big stage in 3 of the 4 international tournaments he played in, was terrible in CL, and choked against big sides like Juve consistently.

If that's your idea of an all-time great. Well, that's crazy.

Did I say that he's an all-time great?

He and Henry were two of the best players of their generation, that's about it. Henry isn't even better than Shevchenko, he's not the best striker of his generation.

I reeeeaaaaallly don't hace the time for a long discussion right now, listening to the Supercoppa commentary while working on a paper, but two quick things for PostIronic that fundamentally are what you seemingly fail to grasp in this disucussion:

1.) Goals and assists are not the only things that matter, not even when the player in question is a Trequartista.
2.) Everyone in here fucking hates Totti, so stop acting as if we were defending him cause we like him.

And seriously, you're an excellent poster, but in this matter you just can't see behind your hate for Totti.

It goes both ways. Except DP84 isn't a good poster.

And some can't see past their hate towards the Premiership and their love for Italian football. The discussion between DP84 and Ironic lacks nuances.

I don't think goals and assists are everything, but they are quite important if you're a No. 10. Clearly. And both his statistics and performances in big matches are severely lacking. Regardless. I'm shocked that people are so obsessed with defending that piece of trash. Oh well.

Henry is clearly better in every measurable way, and there's a reason people rate him as one of the best Premier League strikers of all time. He's also played for big clubs and performed for them. He's one more on the International Stage, domestic stage, European stage. It's pretty obvious he's better. It's not even an argument.

I'm just confused as to what the argument for Totti being on Henry's level is? He's behind him in every single measurable possible, on every single stage. He won about one tenth of what Henry did. You're saying his passing is so good and his creativity that he makes up for all that? Ridiculous.

I see you're still on about this.

Don't fight it man. Come to the dark side.

Markovic was so disappointing so far.

How has he performed this season? @Enron
He's really come on the last couple of matches, even though he got a red card against Basel, he was playing really well before that. Scored a nice goal in the League Cup. Shredded Arsenals right flank.

But it's obvious he needed some time to adjust to the physicality of the league. He's only 20 years old so I wasn't expecting him to start firing right away. Would have liked to see him get more time as sub early on, but it looks like he's one to watch in the second half of the season.
