I remember an England-Netherlands U21 shoot-out going to a similar number, but this might be the most.
Sometimes keepers just aren't good enough. The Boro keeper was too tall to get down to many, and Mignolet should have definitely saved another two. It was always going to take a miss.

Raheem Sterling is a talented lad, and unlike players like Lennon and Chamberlain, he actually has a football brain to go with his pace. He's still too young to go start for Real Madrid, but it isn't so far fetched that he'd go there in the future. The only problem is, English talents have a tendency to peak early, stagnate and not develop as well as they should, take Jack Wilshere for example.
Raheem sterling is exceptionally good... for his age. If he continues to develop he might become world class and for that I think he should leave the EPL to elsewhere like Serie A or La Liga where his pace is not the most important quality to emphasize. In a different league he can work on his tactical and technical sides of his game rather than be taught to just memorize how some openings occur in the EPL and to just take the ball and run with it a la walcott. A closed up league can expose his limitations and force him to improve on these limitations, otherwise I think he is doomed as another fast english winger that is at most useful but easily negated by some defensive tactics.

He may have improved,but still he relies a lot on his pace and dribbling abilities.The point being that Sterling won't necessarily benefit from coming to Serie A(hypothetically),as he can use his insane pace and dribbling to rape defences,without necessarily improving his tactical and technical sides,which was the whole point in joining the league.He is like a better version of Gervinho even at the age of 19 and is already a key player for 'pool at 19 years of age.
Another example of pace being a hugely benefitting aspect in Serie A(though a little premature) is Menez.Sterling should have no problems in raping the league.

It is a weaker league but that is too simplistic of an explanation. The gap between the leagues is not sufficient to account for how he changed from being zero to hero.
Different leagues have different styles in their football. Some emphasize physicality, others athleticism or tactics or technique. There also differences between team styles but generally teams of the same league tend to share some general characteristics in their approach to the game. So it is possible that the general style of a league suits one player better than another and sometimes the general style is okay but the club's style makes life difficult to the player.
A player like Gervinho is not insanely talented or anything of that sort. He might only be suited for smaller teams or maybe wenger couldnt get the best out of him. Point is..there are many variables other than merely playing at a weaker league.

You have a point pace does make a huge difference in Serie A as opposed to the EPL (where fast wingers are more common).. but in Italy he can also learn the tactical side of the game from the games and from the training sessions. The approach in italy is different and a lot of players who were at the EPL talked about that. He would rape defenders here but he'd also learn much more about tactics while he is destroying italian defenses than he would destroying english ones.

Sanogo was free, and his wages are just half of what Gervinho used to earn.
You're not being serious in comparing Gervinho(the Arsenal version of him I mean) to Walcott, those who are familiar with my views on Walcott, know I don't rate him that highly, but at least the guy scores goals for us even if he's technically inept.
