Sheva choked back in 2005.

9 goals against Juve, 15 goals against Inter in the derby, winning penalty against us in 2003, 48 CL goals, countless goals in big games, obliterated Real Madrid (the reigning champions) in the CL quarterfinals with Dynamo Kiev, leading them to the semifinals in 99...

Shevchenko did choke against Liverpool in 05 but that was the exception to the rule, he was a monster in big games.

Sheva chocked when he went to a different league. Henry didn't. That puts Henry on top imo.
That is true but one has to consider the fact that Shevchenko never had a proper chance at Chelsea since Mourinho didn't want him as he prefered Drogba in the CF role and consisently benched him for that reason, and he was moving to a faster paced league at the age of 30.

He did choke but I don't think that means much, Henry wasn't great in his first season at Barca while Sheva never had a proper chance to prove himself and he was on the wrong side of the 30s. Fr3sh is right, Milan sold him at the perfect time.

I think it's perfectly legitimate to consider Henry slighlty better but I think there isn't much between them, if anything at all.

Yeah, but so many strikers over 30 are doing and have done great in the EPL since Sheva went there. Age wasn't the factor imo. He's a great striker but I think he definitely benefited from how good Milan was. He got plenty of chances at Chelsea, just was never able to take them.

Del Piero
Look at what he did with Dynamo Kiev in 99, leading them to CL semifinals, finishing top scorer and destroying Real Madrid. I don't think what you said is true when you consider that.

It didn't work out for him at Chelsea but I don't think that dimishes the greatness that Shevchenko was in his prime.

:agree:

There primes are very similar, Henry had slightly better longevity and had the luck of being part of a fantastic French generation at the start of his career.

For me Shevchenko and Henry are of a very similar level in terms of individual accomplishment and the only thing that could separate them would be Trophies won.

sorry to crush your dreams freddy boy :p at least carlitos most important goal of his career wasnt a handball against ireland
I'm thinking/hoping you're only semi serious. You aren't really going to argue that Tevez is better than Henry, surely not. You know people who were Tevez's managers such as Alex Ferguson would laugh at the mere suggestion.

id try to list what henry won at club level but itd be like 2 trophies :p in international level he actually was always a disappointment, WC2002 ffs
Henry had a good WC in 98 for an upcoming player. He had a good tournament in 2000, and he was one of the best strikers in the 2006 WC. Him being not very popular in France had other reasons, his performances for the NT were secondary.

ooobviously, even fred agrees with that
The fuck I do. Henry was a fucking legend, he'd hold his own against most of the greats in the late 90's and 2000+.

I love Bergkamp I really do, and perhaps talent wise and in terms of technique he was more majestic than Theirry, both played for Arsenal at their prime, you ask Arsenal fans who they think is the better player.

That's not what I'm saying, but I haven't seen more deluded fans.
Fred hates "arrogant Europeans", but loves France. It makes no sense.
You're never going to let that one go, are you? :D

That was in response to you guys blatant arrogance towards developing countries.

and I don't like "France" I like French football and the Frenchy NT, which is comprised for the most part of immigrants mind you :D

I think they're pretty equal. Both are legendary strikers. Henry was significantly better at assisting then Sheva but Sheva was so clutch, I think they were on the same level.
No arguments there. Shevchenko in his day was a fvckin machine.

Yeah, saying Iaquinta was horrible for us is like saying Pepe was horrible for us the past three years. It's technically not wrong, but still kinda missing the point.
