In terms of ability no, it is possible that Lichtsteiner suits the team more than Alves though. Lichtsteiner knows the team, the system, and plays as a wingback. Alves definitely has an adjustment period. I'd bet that Alves turns out better, but I could see a bit of a transition period due to drastic style differences from Barcelona, and Juventus.

How is it a bad thing that we add more players? A few years ago Witsel was on many wishlists and he's even managed to start for Belgium, ahead of a ton of other great players.. Witsel could be a starter for us - you just can't compare him to Hernanes (who was Ruined in Merda)

it´s funny to read some statements and how people react about the witsel transfer. to be honest I also wanted to se james or isco but in the end the mercato was good. We only lost 1 starter and this was Pogba. We replaced him with pjanic who is pretty good and efficient. Furthermore we brought Witsel. He is ok but nothing special. The other arrivals are great (Higuain, Pjaca, Benatia, Cuadrado and Alves).

The only thing I miss is a real trequartista, but I think Pjaca can fill this gap.
