He can play there - it just doesn't isn't his best spot. In preseason he has played as a mazzala and in the UCL game vs. Juventus a few years ago he played there. He can, but it shouldn't be where we use him.

I mean in 14-15, as a Mazzala in 15 starts at CM ( you can filter by starts at certain positions on whoscored), he scored 6 goals, and 9 assists.

Barzagli is worse in a 4 man D. Bonucci is the one who is really great in a 4 man defense.

If money wasn't in question I'd go for neves without thinking twice. Must admit I haven't seen bentancur but from what ive heard about him I wouldn't be disappointed with either.
