I know he'll stay 2 more years with us, but leaving CL for the last minute is too risky, if something goes wrong you have no more chances left with this squad....you have to add Barza, Licht, Evra too.

It's not like they are planning it this way :D, it's my very humble analysis that we are not good enough to make it past the semis next year, but maybe the year after with the right addition(s) and the boys having a year of playing together under their belt we can finally get the fucking trophy:xfinger:

He is an experienced defensive midfielder (or B2B mid) and the so needed muscles in the middle of the pitch.
I can't disagree with that statement. I just think he'd be an incredibly underwhelming signing and a waste of money for the figures being mentioned. I'd rather go with a younger option with more upside/potential, and resale value.

Why are u so excited about the potential signing of a guy who epitomizes mediocrity? :sigh:

I've been quite busy over the past week. Any short update on the mercato? Anything reliable flying around, midfield? Or something
Cuadrado looking likely because:

1) Many reports saying we have met with his agent

2) Cuadrado not called up for Chelsea's next match

3) Conte during the pre-match press conference said: "Cuadrado? The situation is not clear but we are waiting. He is a Chelsea player and for the moment he is training with us."

and 4) Reports suggesting Chelsea are gonna splash big time on James

As for Matuidi, he's a target of ours, and several reports claim he is pushing for a move to Juventus, but there's nothing concrete.

I don't mind Cuadrado but it's quite weird we're signing him. Sure, he gives us options, but I thought we'd go harder for some midfielder.

Me too, to be honest. However, I'm guessing that Beppe's thinking right now that "Ok Cuadrado gives certain guarantees, as he proved last year" and as far as central midfielders go, it just seems that Beppe & Paratici aren't fully convinced of any of the players on the market right now.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Cuadrado IN and mercato chiuso.

Marotta's latest comments reminding fans that "we have Lemina and Asamoah" also suggest this.

Yeah, people laughed when I said I see mercato chiuso like 10 days ago :D but it's late August, I doubt we're trying to make a top signing at this point.

If anything we might have concluded Witsel for the next summer for free.

When we sold Pogba I said everything is a question mark as I want to see the whole mercato. And, at the moment, I'm not really optimistic. We're very strong at the moment but our team looks very weird IMO. It seems disbalanced and like we failed to sign somebody, then moved after a different player on a different position. I thought we'd bring in some beast in the middle but I guess not, which makes me worried, as it looks kinda fragile.
