From my calculations this is how our mercato went so far:

    In:

    Higuain - 45
    Lemina - 9,5
    Pjanic - 32
    Benatia - 3
    Pjaca - 11,5
    Alves - 0

Total spend this year : 101

    Out:

    Pogba: 52,5
    Morata: 30
    Isla: 4,5
    Others: 6
    +
    Zaza: 27-28
    Pereyra: 18
    Hernanes: 5

    Total: 93 official + 50 on future sales = 120 this season.

We have a positive total of 20 mil...not counting the board's money. 20 + 40/50 from the board based on previous years and our statement for the CL means we should have some cash to spend....
Here's the actual figures so far:

    IN
    Mario Lemina €9.5m
    Simone Andrea Ganz €0
    Oumar Touré €TBC
    Miralem Pjanić €32m
    Dani Alves €0
    Marko Pjaca €23m
    Medhi Benatia €3m (loan)
    Gonzalo Higuaín €90m

    ~€157.5m

    OUT
    Jorge Andrés Martínez €0
    Fausto Rossi €0
    Rubinho €0
    Martín Cáceres €0
    Carlo Ilari €0
    Gabriel Appelt €1m
    Álvaro Morata €30m
    Marcel Büchel €1.2m
    Vincenzo Fiorillo €1m
    Andrea Schiavone €0.4m
    Simone Padoin €0.6m
    Zoran Josipovic €0.25m
    Albert Roussos €0
    Nicolò Curti €TBC
    Matteo Liviero €0
    Marcelo Djaló €0
    Paul Pogba €105m

    ~€139.45m

    NET -€18.05m

    ============================================

Add in the difference in wages:

    -Pogba €4.5m
    -Cuadrado €3m
    -Morata €2.5m
    -Caceres €2m
    -Padoin €0.8m
    -Rubinho €0.2m
    -------------------
    Total: €13m

    +Higuain €7.5m
    +Pjanic €4.5m
    +Dani Alves €4m
    +Benatia €2.9m
    +Pjaca €1.8m
    -------------------
    Total: €20.7m

Negate the requirement to increase Pogba's salary, but bear in mind that it will increase for the likes of Dybala and Bonucci. It shows that we've got room for one considerable CM signing, presuming two players (Hernanes [€3m] plus another) are sold. The other players being linked away are on salaries ranging from €1.5m to €1.8m.

We can spend in the range of 70-100 million more if we want to.

Problem is there aren't many players available (DM, CM) we can spend it on. Gamechangers, players of quality, grinta...

Installments make me dizzy, but even with your calculations we spent €18m which is not that much considering the spend in the last 3 years. Isla is not on your list, not official yet? My point is: we can sell players like Zaza, Pereyra who are backups and are linked to other clubs to make room for someone who can improve the team. Wage wise, the budget seems kinda stretched, I give you that.

I don't see the need to spend big anymore we are pretty set and stacked in all positions. Signing an another DM is the only one I think would make sense at this point.
We are not stacked in the MF, Khedira and Asmaoah are cripples and not reliable, Marchisio will be back from an ACL injury, probably will never be the same player.
Lemina is huge question mark and doesnt seem ready, hernanes and sturaro shouldnt be near our starting 11.

When Khedira and Marchisio will go down which is sure to happen we will be left with only Pjanic, and that's when you will know we are not stacked when you see Hernanes starting a CL game again.

    I don't think he's official yet.

As has been mentioned before, clubs break finances down over larger periods than season-by-season, but it's quite hard for us to follow this. If you break the fees down into 3-year cycles you can include past and future fees for players like Vidal and Coman, salaries saved on players like Vidal, Pirlo, Llorente and Tevez.

Do you see what you are doing here though? Worst case scenario for everything. Maybe all our central midfielders will take a trip fishing in the Congo and catch malaria all at the same time?

In reality we currently have 10 players on our books who can play CM, and 2 are injured, one a starter. So we need to sell or loan 2-4 and probably bring in another starting quality player.

Not a worst case scencario, but its the most realistic one, Khedira have a long history of injuries and if i was a betting man, i ll bet that he will miss a large number of games this yéar too.

Marchisio is coming back from a torn acl, chances is that he wil ltake him a lot of time to regain his form if he ever do that.
Asamoah whom i am a big fan of, played a handfull of games the last two years, i don't think we should be relaying on him to stay healthy, if we are that's a huge risk.

The others names aren't starter material unfortunately.

I am sorry I was wrong when I said Paul was staying, i am sorry i was right when I found out he was actually leaving and shared that with you.
It was too much money for all parties involved to refuse and in the end he was ok about going back to Manure. As much as I love d the player, i think we got a lot more of what he is worth

Just the names that have been discussed in the press. Although I expect Beppe to pull out a rabbit from his hat

Not sure you can make it sound any more negative than that :D

    Worst case scenarios all around.
