After sassuolo came another 11 Serie a matches and I think 4 CL matches where he didn't score.. He didn't feature the full 90 blabla..

Imagine him at Madrid.. 15 matches (not the full 90 but only gaynaldo gets the full 90) where he doesn't score a single goal.. He'll be playing at Castilla In no time..

Let's be clear. I love Morata and I want him here.. But real are fucking us with this

I am having second thoughts about this now.Too ridiculous asking price if you ask me.

We are all overrating Morata more than we think.Paying 35M for someone who is not a guaranteed starter. No way our board would value him anything more than 20.

Morata is brilliant, but goals scored is not great, even with that amazing Juventus team around him!

We will not yet know if Lukaku will be as good as his now for a big club, so you are correct. But you can not argue with his goal return, and as I say. Lets see in the Euro's.

PSG, Real, Juve, United and Chelsea ALL linked with him, even Bayern.
I never heard of intererests of these clubs, apart from him saying he would like to play in Italy and weak sources linking him to Real few months ago.

I actually think Lukaku is a great striker potentially but Morata has been decisive in most big games he played in and his goals/assists record isnt that bad considering hes 3rd choice striker playing in a league that isn't best suited for his strengths. Lukaku has 25 goals 7 assists in around 4000 minutes this season with being the star player of his team in a league that suits his playing style while Morata has 12 goals 12 assists in around 2300 minutes played while being 3rd choice in a league thats not best suited for his strengths. Im sure if you calculate a per minute ratio Morata would come up better even in these unfavorable conditions. obviously stats dont tell the whole story but you seem to rate Lukaku higher based on that. To me, until he starts deciding big CL and international games, Morata will be superior

65M for a striker who had a dry spel of 3 months

What's next? Higuain to the EPL for 500M?

Good number, thanks for that mate.

Like I said, both are good.

But most on here seem to think Lukaku is not great just because he plays for us.

That must mean that Zaza is better!!!

The big game thing is key absolutely, but what about all the other games ??!! Lukaku has not had a chance in these big games yet.

So if that's how you or anyone looks at players....you will never ever try to buy players form smaller clubs.

If Lukaku played for Sasualo, this forum would be gagging to buy him, and not because of his fee.

what people seem to forget here is how well Morata performed in the CL.
He seems to have a special feeling in these games, he nearly always played way above his standards taking us to the final last year and nearly leading us to a miracle vs Bayern.
Hard to put a price tag on that.
Having said that, I also believe he is worth around 45/50. 65 is ludicrous.

Sad but sometimes you gotta let them go.

Get Pjanic and we will forget all about Morata.
Paying 35M would be almost luxury-esque and we are not in that position to afford luxury signings with other glaring holes particularly in midfield.
Pjanic would walk into our starting XI and would also make sure we look comfortable in posession when Marchisio is not around.
Id pay 35M kind of money for someone who will start most games like Pjanic.

Oh and most definitely not WC will become most definitely WC player if he joins us @DAiDEViL

As far as the Morata affair goes, we offered 15, Real want 35. I honestly don't know how far we'd go to keep him, but cannot see us offering more than 20.
What might change things in our favour would be an option to buy Pogba in one or two years .... and take Kovacic who has become a burden for them.
Yeah, I'd say fuck off to any kind of option to buy our players in the future.

Yep.

Pjanic for 38m.
Kovacic for loan and pay later
Lemina done
Berardi almost done.
Alves almost done for free.

Not a bad mercato.

Even 50M for both Morata and Kovacic would be a great deal, but I doubt thats happening. Morata 30-35M now and Kovacic on loan with 25-30M next summer is more likely
I'm positive that if we offer 50m, we certainly get Kovacic and Morata. If Asa and Zaza rumours are true, there are ours 50m.

So who can we replace him with?
Id rather look to strengthen the midfield mostly. Its the heart of the team and we should rejuvenate the area what was our strongest area in the past yrs.
If he goes,we'll still have 4 strikers.Lets see how the mercato evolves.Hard to tell whats going on behind the scenes.

Zaza would do great in England under a good coach. He has qualities to play in the Premier League as a starter but I hope you don't get to witness that as I want him to stay.

About Lukaku, yes he hasnt had the chance to play in many big games so far, its fair to wait and see how he does in CL before saying hes good or bad in those. With Morata however we already know, and thats what gives him the edge over Lukaku. Could Lukaku become a big game player one day? Sure, but he isnt one right now. We will have to wait for him to join a big club to make better comparations to the likes of Morata but so far its Morata>Lukaku

Hope we find an agreement with Real, but not to optimistic atm.

Our forward line up might look like this: Dybala, Mandzukic, Berardi and Zaza. I'm fine with that. We need midfielders, that should be our priority.
Apart from Dybala that's not good enough. You don't win CL without top class forwards, which none of them are. Maybe Berardi can become that, but I don't think we can play him and Dybala together in a 4-3-1-2 anyway

Good debate, and you are not wrong, but we can agree to disagree
