Since their recompra is for 30, it's actually like us paying 20. We have a 10 million discount vs epl clubs due to the 10 million gain implicit in the deal. Arsenal playing 50 is like us paying 40, with 20 already budgeted. Keeping him should be realistic.
If we take this further it will actually be written as a 20mln profit in the books.

It will be a tough summer for Marotta.

Already needs replacements for three great players: Morata, Cuadrado and Marchisio.

And then there is always that AM/winger everyone is expecting, including the coach.

Marca: Real Madrid WANTS to activate the buy-back option for 30M.

IF we are really offering ~20M for him,i can't see why would Real make a drama about another 10M profit.
If they plan to keep him, that's something else, but to sell himto England for another 10M profit?instead of keeping him happy and clubs relations better.

two things to this

A.Maybe Morata wants to play somewhere else as a regular starter

B.We probably think that incoming 30M can be better used with for other targets than paying the difference to Madrid(20-25M)

Somehow i feel neither side is necessarily pushing for the move.

Ifeel the same. Morata is just letting things happen...because he doesnt want to be mandzukic bench anyways.

and juve is looking on what to do with those 30 millions because we will need them.

IMO this is sealed.

It's not a difference of 25 mil.

We paid 20 mil for Morata they will give us 30 mil so they will only spend 10mil for him. And if they sell him for 50 mil which they can to those EPL wankers thats a profit of 40 mil. We simply won't give 40 mil on top of the 20 for Morata.

You all were talking how Zaza cost much less then what we paid for him because Sassuolo gave us money first for him. In this case we are fucking Sassuolo.

I am sorry but that does not make sense at all. What we paid for Morata 2 years ago does not affect Reals decision. If they dont intent to use Morata themselves they will be looking to optimisme their profit. It does not matter if they buy him back for 30 mio and then sell him to some EPL for 50 mio. or we give them 20 mio to terminate the clause.

How can people struggle that hard with basic math?

Real Madrid buys him back and sells him for 50m:
Earned 20m from us, earned 50m from EPL morons and spend 30m on buyback = 20+50-30 = 40m profit

We cancel the buyback option by paying 20m:
20m in 2014 + 20m in 2016 = 40m profit

I really hope we have an established player lined up if Morata leaves. It doesnt have to be the same position at all but we need an established player to fill the gap.

Seeing this midfield crisis we have, perhaps the board would be more inclined to sell Morata and plug the gaps with a quality midfielder or two.We cant have it all you know.

Pjanic + Berardi ?

You have to check their Morata thread.Hilarious stuff
I will when someone posts a link, too lazy to search :D

Thats essentially equal to us giving Real 20m, can defenitely do that.
I wouldnt be surprised if that 20-25 figure we're said to be considering, is quite accurate.

I'm also not seeing who'll splash 55+mil on Morata. And lets be real here. We have a good relation with Real. They accept offers that are considerably higher then ours.

Its not like we offer 25mil (=55) and some club that offers 60 will have him. They arent going to ditch Morata in a whole new area for a 5 million profit
