What about X. Alonso on the cheap for a vice Marchisio? Wouldnt surprise me if Beppe would go for X. Alonso + Pjanic/Gotze/Isco/Gomes.

I would agree with this.

Also EPL teams love dem fancy signings and with the TV revenue windfall this yr,a no.of EPL teams would be ready to 'celebrate' their 50-60M pound signing trophies this yr.
James falls into that category.Arsenal fans are already celebrating Xhaka signing like they won a trophy or something.

James hasn't been in the fantastic form he was in last season for Real Madrid (even getting booed but that isn't a surprise considering their fans), but I've not seen anything on his temperament?

As for "Juve level grinta", just look at how he led Colombia in the 2014 World Cup. The whole tournament he was excellent (arguably player of the tournament) but the match against Brazil stands out as him fighting hard for his team, while his teammates looked a little lost on the pitch, putting others on his shoulders and displaying a plenty personality. James is the exact type of player that would raise the quality of the starting XI to make a push in Europe.
